Sitting down, facing forward.
I've managed to convert my wife, a tootle puffer, from premade coils/cartridges to TC on RBAs and TC mods. She's not up on all the ins and outs of coils, wires and TC but I give her a run through on each one so she can use them and, of course, handle the rebuilds as needed. It has cut the coil replacement dramatically so it has been worth the effort. She is actually retiring her iSticks, VTR and CoolFires in favor of DNAs and Disguiser. I got shot in the foot by the Disguiser. I didn't show her how to change modes and it "stopped working" mysteriously yesterday. Turned out it got out of Ti mode and into SS mode. Cleared that one up pretty quickly.

Whew, what a week. Had an employee, with substantial access, decide to quit without notice. She was kind enough to delete a boatload of critical company data on her way out the door. Thankfully I have a functional backup regime so no data was lost at the end of the day. However, not so much recovering the data, but maintaining and documenting the audit trail has been a huge PITA.

Maybe I am just old school, but even when I have been highly disgruntled, I still left the job in such a manner that they threw me a luncheon on the way out. Just walking out, and destroying data on the way out is so dishonorable it just really ...... me off.

Not to mention illegal, that data didn't belong to her, destroying company data, that's the same as stealing. I'd be sure to give her a good recommendation when someone calls for a reference.

That was my stance totally, in fact I wanted an example made of her and charges pressed. Upper management decided the view wasnt worth the climb. The lawyer said that since I had backups there were no "monetary damages". We "could" press criminal charges, and I wish we would, but the powers that be dont want to spend the money on the process.

I had a similar situation and deduced that our equity position would be worse of pursuing the moral victory than just moving on.

I understand that, we had a service manager stealing from the dealership I worked in. When I showed the owner how and what he was doing he was shocked, the next morning the owner came to me and said he gave the manager two weeks notice, I couldn't believe it. That guy was deleting files left and right trying to cover up as much as he could those two weeks. I asked the owner why he didn't fire him on the spot, show him the door and call the police, he told me it's better to keep it quite then have the word get out. I got the feeling it was embarrassing that he didn't catch it himself and he didn't want negative talk spreading around town and his competitors. Maybe that's the difference between me and upper management, I'd be vindictive, they see a bigger picture.

Yup, but it still erks me to see them get away with it, know damn well they'll do it to someone else. :-x

I know that manager stole a truck off the lot and got away with it. We had a out of country college kid leave his truck in the back lot for weeks after leaving it for an oil change, we couldn't reach him and figured he went home after he graduated. One day I took a call, the finance company called asking if we had any contact info for the kid, I gave them what we had and told them we too had tried to reach him to come and get the truck. The guy on the phone said, "Don't let the truck go anywhere, it's in repossession, we'll be there in the morning to pick it up." When I got off the phone the manager, having hearing my side of the conversation asked me what that was about, I told him. Next morning the repo guy comes to get the truck, gives me the repo papers, I gave him the key and told him it was out back. Five minuets later he comes in saying he can't find the truck, I go out with him and SOB, the truck was gone!

I suddenly connected the dots from the day before when the manager asked me about the call, I saw him a few minutes later pulling an invoice from the new car sales files. I watched him write down a key code, go the parts dept and told them to cut a key and put it on a cash ticket..... Never thought he was getting a key made so he could come back that night and steal the truck, we would have extra keys cut for customers all the time, but it was always billed in their name, not "CASH". I told the owner the story, no way we could prove it but we know damn well he stole it. Not a story you want getting around town about the people you had working for you, so he got away with it. And that's not the only crap he was pulling either, he was a real piece of work.

We had an employee who seemed to call in sick quite often, good deal for us since we tend to pay for sick days ( just dont abuse it I've taken 3 in 24 years, didnt miss a day even when I broke 2 toes, I know I'm a fool) Stupid girl forgot that she was "friends" on facebook with a fellow employee, the idiot posted "taking a day off to go cut my pot plants". Needless to say she was promptly fired.

Social Media get a lot of people in trouble. Just this week, there was an incident at a construction site here at home. A machine was working above another, the bank gave way & it landed on the lower machine. No one was hurt, the lower machine suffered extensive damages, & made for a pretty neat picture.

The picture found it's way on to social media, were it gained the attention of the Ministry of Labour.
Since the incident was not reported, the ministry paid them a visit.
They found them in violation in three areas & started an investigation!
I'v been around long enough to know what happens next. A big fine!

Now the contractor is looking at 6 figures damage on his machine & probably that much in a fine too just because some one posted this picture :(

So I keep seeing mention of these magnetic stirrers. Anybody know where to get one cheap for DIY mixing?
I used them all of the time when working in the lab. I got them from the storeroom. Where can you get them? Hmm... isn't there a lab supplies website somewhere? I bought some graduated measuring cylinders off of eBay a year ago. Maybe you can find them there?
