Posting this here as well as in the bottom feeders thread for feedback:

I have a project where I would like to flange 10 gauge thin wall 316 hypodermic tubing. Any way to do this without special equipment? It's too small for either of my brake line flare blocks to grab. My googlefu is not coming up with anything other than companies that will do it in production run quantities. Example of what I am talking about.

If your flaring just to hold tubing, I'd try something with a taper like a pick-punch to tap the end and try to get a flair. Trick will be holding it without crushing it, you'll have to be creative. Have someone hold it with the other end against a block of wood? If you have to clamp it, if your lucky enough to find something that will slip inside the tube that's a close fit that would keep it from crushing. Do you have a numbered drill set, I'd go there first.

Can you fabricate a flare block in proper size or drill proper size hole in an existing flare block & ridge it w/ a dremel?

Well just left the doc for a six month check for the throat, all clear! They spray some numbing crap in your nose and throat, the inside of my head is all numb, feel like I just did ten lines, where's the rush?

What I didn't know, he told me the chances of it returning get less and less as time passes, once you clear five years you don't have to be checked anymore. I knew it was not likely to come back but I didn't know the chances get less as time passes, that makes me feel better, I still worry..... But I made it through all this, including during the treatments vaping and I'm a chain vaper, no one wants to tell me vaping is harmful! Throw those damn cigarettes away before it's too late and vape on! :thumb:

Thanks Mike. If there wasn't all the lies about vaping and the government trying to keep people from it I wouldn't be talking about my cancer on a public forum. I gave it a lot of thought and felt it's just too important not to, I want people to know my story. I'd love to see more people who have been through something similar, be it surviving throat cancer of just being able to breath better to speak out, get the truth out there!

Wasn't taking copy/paste, Image web-link, or even a Screen Cap for a good 1/2 hr.

strange! never ran into a problem - i right-click the pic and choose 'copy imagine'
then back over here - right-click and choose 'paste' all while running xp pro and no hang-ups :?:

also, i thought retired mentioned that with a newer os you can just drag the picture to where you want it.

Are you trying to use a Luer-lok type connection?

If not I gotta ask, why reinvent the wheel, why not use something that already exists?

I have a 30" 10 gauge piece that is just shy of 3.5mm OD and 3mm ID that I was going to try to use. It's fun reinventing the wheel.

Turbocad said he has done it and explained how so.......

BTW, it's friction turning like the old time metal bowls were made.
