No. Unless you would consider a pmma tank?
The. Copper. Vapes. Hussar. Is. A keeper

It's. like. K-F. Styled. With. A real. Smooth. Draw. I like. Mine. A lot. Flavour. Is. Excellent! Fill hole. Is small. &. Pmma. tank
Do you have any experience with the Merlin Mini, looks like it could be good for stealthy situations.

What is "strikes"? Convert to ceramic?

Striking generally refers to a reaction to a second firing, usually with glazes
Color changes can occur.

Ever seen a red item that has black in it/around it ? It's the red glaze striking

Can clay be purified? Maybe dissolved in water, filtered and then dehydrated back to a workable moisture content? I'm not a Potter.

No need to 'purify' it...it gets fired at a pretty hot temp - that will purify it for sure !
But probably 'workable' with adding water/drying out depending on how it is

I played with a potters wheel when I was younger, never made a SINGLE thing worth keeping. But I did find I was good as fixing the kiln when it broke.......

ROFL !!
I have never thrown on a wheel, but I did have an amazing home built foot kick one on my patio in CA that I was given...and had to leave it there when we moved. :(

Coolio. I checked out a couple of vids on harvesting local clay. Doesn't look too complicated. A neighbor of mine has a pottery work shop that she almost never uses anymore, even after I fixed her kilns. Maybe I'll take her up on her offer to use her workshop after all.

And I just googled and found a studio a little North of me in San Antonio that has classes.
Those are great for just being able to work on stuff and meet people.
I wonder what a beginner's throwing class costs...

You can buy a block of a 'proper' clay for around $30. It's pretty cheap stuff.
Yeah, but that just doesnt have the same karma as digging it up in your own back yard......

Now I did blow a couple of nice glass tall drink cups when I was in Asheville. They have a place there where they teach you how, then let you do one yourself.

Ohhh nice !
I had a standing offer from some friends that were glass blowers in Ventura to come and play and never got around to it. :(
