I recently gave my Silo 900 to a friend but from what I noticed was the anodized black Silo stayed in great condition while my ERM developed tiny scratches quite easily, perhaps they just didn't show though. The black Silo pretty much looked like the day that I got it.

The anodizing process leaves a very hard finish, much harder than bare aluminum.

These are what I use, I stole a pair from my wife's sewing kit until she found out I had them, then I had to get my own pair. They taper down to a very fine point where you can snipe one thread from a seam, nice & sharp, clean cuts. I have the non-coated, don't see a need for the coated.

Amazon.com : Fiskars Softouch Micro-Tip Pruning Snip : Hand Pruners : Patio, Lawn & Garden

I have those Fiskars too, Willy, but found them too big working with Aromamizers and Foggers so I got a pair of these -

Really sharp and the fine point is handy. The curve works well too, especially trimming an Aromamizer.

All 3 added to my "vape Tools" Wish List (LURVE Prime)! I'll decide later which of the three might work best. In fact, I may get 2 of the 3...one for cutting the bulk of the excess wick, the other for precise trimming. :D

FT has a new ship date of 6/28 for my Therion DNA75c so I'm poking around looking for another seller before I cancel and saw a deal for 20700 batteries. 3000mah with 40a continuous and 85a peak pulse discharge! The battery is Lithium Nickel and introduced by Tesla motors.
