I've been monitoring the Evolve threads to see if any updates are available to correct the problem with the 75C boards reading atty res incorrectly (too low). I haven't seen any progress now for over a week. Sad, I have two boards collecting dust. I could run them in power mode but don't really want to, that's not what I bought them for.

My  has gone to :?: to  to:blink: and is now borderline :(. If I reach :-x it'll be hammer time.

Couldn't you just use a manual TCR to correct the issue? I'm sure with a bit of tweaking you could get to work just like you want :)

Patience, there is a new build in beta.
Remember the old days when whatever software came on your DNA (20/30/40) was what it was stuck with forever, no matter what bugs it had? And yes, they did have some bugs.

I've been using both 75c mods and haven't had any issues with low readings.
I have issues with all of my mods from time to time, the 75C no more so than the rest. I usually chalk it up to something with my atty build as 98% thats what it winds up being. Ohms lock can be useful!

Amen! Until the Holy Grail of TC boards drops from heaven, I hope they never drop the ohms lock! cigatron, can't you punch in the correct ohms and lock it in under escribe?

OK, so Steamer talked me into trying to wrap my own claptons.

Here is my very first attempt at a fused clapton. Dual 26g wrapped in 32g, both TI. Ohmed out at 0.17 ohms, doing a 4/5 wrap around a #20 drillbit.

Working quite nicely in TC mode at 415 with 50/50 juice.

It aint real pretty, wont compete with the coil artist anytime soon, but hey, its a first attempt! I see why they use fatter wire gauges now!!!!!

What kind of jig did you go with?
It looks great! :) I found 32 was a bit too thin for the outer wrap, I'm using 30 now :)
After your done wrapping, If you firmly grab the end with pliers & reverse the drill real slow, you can straighten out the twists :) The wire will straighten out, so the 2 inner wires are Straight :)
It looks way better & is easier to wrap to :)
I'm enjoying the Ti Clapton, solid "TC" too :)

I used a pair of fishing swivels, a spool tamer, a drill, and my fingers.
Might go ahead throw together a jig before the next attempt.
Yeah, that 32g was a hummdinger.......

But, I can see where with a little practice, this is doable.

For Sure!
I was going to try the "swivel method" Ohm Boy Josh made it look so easy :)
What I like about the jig is, I can make short pieces with the opposite end just left open.
I can straighten my 2 inner cores separate then just put them in the drill chuck together :)
I make about 12" pieces so if it don't turn out well I didn't waste to much wire :)
If it does work well, I have enough for 2 nice coils :)

I was surfing around on Ebay today & found, alpinetec box with DNA75c cut outs & dual 20700 Sled :)
The whole thing with buttons, Sled, 3D printed chip holder & shipping to Canada 46$ :)
I'm not really a fan of the Alpinetec box's, their like a brick :(
But this will make my 250C with dual 20700's :)
I'm hoping for a more attractive enclosure comming out for my 250c builds.

Mike, there are these Teflon tipped plier-type things made by youde that you can use to straighten those out, I do a hybrid NiFe52/430ss fused clapton that gets all wound up and those come in handy.

I was just wondering about this, I mean I'm assuming it is performing in TC the exact same way as the regular dna boards correct? Nothing different there right? I mean it's using the same maps, but it feels so off for some reason.

I need to replace one board for my cousin, had a mishap with some solder and tried to get creative.

You could tweak the TFR range but there is no tcr setting, imo tweaking maps and stuff is something best done when you have time to sit down at a pc and steam engine it. Ofc the whole point with the TFR maps & stuff is to not have to do stuff like that. No tweaks, right maps for the right materials and it just works... in a perfect world anyway.

I think you can, could be wrong though, but I never do that bc I feel like it kind of defeats the purpose of how Evolv is trying to do their TC, which is for me what makes their boards so good.

+1, +1 & +1, it's the principle of the whole thing.

I just looked through the build I'm using (=I think tweaked evolv "profile") I see no way to dumb it all down to a TCR input, unfortunate, as it might be of some help in this situation. on the fly maybe.

Am I right in assuming that anything is possible with these builds or is it limited somewhat in what they can do? (haven't checked into making my own build yet, seems like it would take some time to do)

Are you asking about this?
