Winter is Coming!

Quotes from yesterdays FDA document
We expect that asserting our authority over these tobacco products will enable us to propose further regulatory action in the future as appropriate

We note, however, that FDA is not banning any type of tobacco product, so we expect current classes
of products to be available under the final rule, although there may be some loss of product variety and price increases for some products.

Potential substitution towards black market or do-it-yourself products could affect the public health benefits of this final rule. We are unable to predict the likelihood or size of this effect.

It is likely that some manufacturers within each particular industry segment will be able to bear the burden of complying with the regulation and it is therefore highly unlikely that all entities or products within a ny segment would choose to exit.

We continue to assume a substantial amount of product consolidation and exit will occur as a result of regulation

we expect most vape shops that currently mix e- liquids will convert to a retail model

We do, however, forecast that most vape shops will cease to engage in mixing or
other manufacturing activities

At most, a handful of ENDS products may have been on the market as of February 15, 2007.
Therefore, nearly all ENDS products will be subject to premarket review

We expect a much larger share of ENDS products to exit rather than submit a
premarket application.

we expect that one percent of ENDS devices may be grandfathered. We also assume
54 percent of delivery systems and somewhere between 50 and 87.5 percent of e-liquids
will not submit a marketing application and will exit the market

we forecast that annual submissions for new products seeking marketing authorization will be between 5 and 10 percent of the number of products that will remain on themarket

Overall average cost per PMTA= $466,563

We do, however, expect there to be a substantial amount of product exit for certain product categories, such as ENDS

The ENDS market would be subject to the most severe disruption because flavors make up the majority of the market and there likely will not be any flavored grandfathered ENDS products.

And OMG!!!!! Look at the PMTA test section beginning on page 150.

And those people are either ignorant of the facts or they have another agenda and do not care how many people will die because of the restrictions they impose. Either way, they will be responsible for untold numbers of deaths. Be it here on earth or when they meet their maker, they will be held accountable. I don't know how they can look themselves in the mirror or sleep at night. What will they have to say when someone they love dies because of their greed for money or power or from not taking the time to do accurate research?

This one sentence scared me the most:

"We expect that asserting our authority over these tobacco products will enable us to propose further regulatory action in the future as appropriate"

A bullies favourite move is always kicking their victim when their down.

I bet fellow gun nuts like myself that live in restrictive states like NY aren't rattled all that much with these regulations. I've been through threats of and passing of so many laws and have seen how creative firearm manufactures and gun owners are at getting around them that I guess I've grown a thick skin to it. I took up reloading, bought enough reloading supplies and bullet casting equipment to out last me. I made my firearms all compliant to stay within the law, so the laws have had little effect on me and most of the serious shooters I know. Although I hate these vaping regs and I know they will do harm (and that's what bothers me most), it's like hoo hum.... yawn.....

What galls me the most is that an e-cig is NOT a tobacco product. That, to me is like classing ginger ale as an alcoholic product because it looks like beer and has ale in its' name.

well, you can't turn back the hands of time ;) back in 2010 it seemed the way to go when the choice was between medical device and tobacco product :(

Yeah, Willie, until you find out that you're a felon because of your nicotine, flavor or mod stash. Can anyone say "Government is out of control"? I fear it is way too late to get the Genie back into the lamp.

Well they never came for my guns, now it's old news, most of the laws have gone unfunded so they are not being enforced and the police have no interest in seeking out gun owners who "might" be breaking the law. The only time you see an arrest for an illegal firearm is when there was another crime committed and they found the firearms during the investigation, that's here in NY. I suspect much of the same will play out in a year or two, some of the FDA funding my get cut or they'll have their wings clipped, depending on who our next president is and what congress looks like.

Let them make me a felon, if they think I'm going to stop vaping or pay them money to keep vaping they are wrong on both counts. I'll find ways around this crap, I'm sure many others will too. What erks me is these regs will keep a lot of smokers from being new vaper's and those who don't know better will follow the regs and get sucked into paying a lot more for lower grade juice and products. That's where it will be up to us to educate and guide folks of ways around these BS regs, I'm ready to join the underground and help! :thumb:

Happy Memorial Day to all the Americans :) Hope you enjoyed your day off?
I worked all day :(

This sled fits right in with just a little sanding down on the corners :) http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/keystone-electronics/1042/36-1042-ND/2745668
The contacts might not be ideal , but they will do. There is a little ledge inside the silo that stops it from hitting the board, it's like it was designed to go in there :)

Whats up with this thing? Anyone have any info on it?
$126.95 Authentic Rcomen Boxster 65W TC VW APV Box Mod - 6-65W / 200-600'F(100-300'C) / 1*18650 / aviation aluminum alloy + carbon fiber at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
What chip is in it, who makes it, it's not cheep. Makes me wonder about it.
It says removable 18650? they must of did some magic to make it this small with a removable 18650 :)

I think ultimately what will happen for the die hard vapers, veteran vapers and serious enthusiasts will be black market. Ordering from other countries, etc... As a cigar enthusiast, I understand how that works and it HAS WORKED for quite a while. We all already know what the bad is, just how bad remains to been clearly seen - but it doesn't look good.

The casual vaper, dual user (smoker/vaper), and I would say 75% of the vaping public will simply return back to tobacco - not sure about my percentage, but I can easily see that happening. I've been in so many vape shops and seen what I consider to be the vast majority of customers walk in and want "the top part", or the "oil" that goes inside...etc... those folks aren't going to chase anything - they're going to say screw it and go back to what they did before. :(

As a cigar enthusiast, I can tell you the cigar industry is equally frustrated with the FDA - and the rant's on youtube and blogs are the same but different in the sense of wording, fewer 4 letter words being spoken from the cigar guys & gals ;)

I'm not sure where I read it, but the bottom line is people who want to continue to vape, need to prepare for the worse... Not necessarily blow $2500 on supplies or gear (though that's not necessarily a bad thing either), but the best advice I would give is invest in some good quality gear and supplies to the best of your abilities.

Last part, I went to a vape event in March... Was talking to the really nice juice guy, somehow I mentioned I didn't think vaping would be around in the future the way it is today - and he took serious offense to that and thought I was either a jerk or crazy. I hate when I'm right sometimes :(

Well SQuape X Surprisingly nice little vape :) I built a single Ti coil 2mm between the posts, after all it's a single 18650 mod & dual coils will make the battery life non igsistent. In my grand plan for the 75 watt chip I wanted a single coil atty for it :) It is a clone! but the build quality is stelar :)
I did how ever get the 31$ one not the 22$ one. Time will tell if the coating fails & ohms start jumping all over the place. Right off the hop it's performing excellent :)

I have a quick question about the Squape X. I'm assuming your's came from Focal also? Well, let me tell you what I got and see if you can offer any assistance.

I received mine Yesterday, from Focal, it was listed as being made by ShenRay. Built mine dual coil SS316, 5 wraps on 2.5mm, ohms out to 0.31 (approximately) on my ERM+. Like you said, the build quality seems stellar though I've only had it a day ;)

My only issue is turning the base, its HARD TO TWIST, so hard I had to use something grip-y to turn the 510 base part. I did put a little VG on the upper and lower colored "ematel" coated decks, but I'm not 100% sure the lower deck (where the 2 posts come up thru) seated properly, I'm guessing that's my issue... But without using 2 pliers (1 on each side) I can't get it to fully seat down. I'm assuming the upper coated "deck piece" and lower coated deck piece are causing lots of tension.

So my questions (and a favor if possible), does your 510 base turn easily? or do you need some kind of assistance to turn it (that piece really needed knurling IMO)

and could you please post a picture of the build deck, so I can see how far down your's seats? I'm not sure if anyone besides @Steamer861 and myself have this atty? obviously anyone who can answer this question it would be appreciated.

TIA
