I decided to build the other 2 Silo cases. Black and red have DNA75's and the blue has a DNA200. I ended up just soldering the battery leads from the lipo to the contact rather than use a connector. I ended up filing the corners on all the fire buttons as well because it wasn't smooth.

Wow You guys are Old!

Comedy is subjective, There aren't to many good comedians who don't talk dirty & swear!
Jerry Seinfeld comes to mind but not many others.
I don't mind the dirty foul mouth humour. I think Richard Pryor, George Carlin & Rodney Dangerfield were some of the funniest comedians, of all time! Their not exactly what you could call "Clean" :)
Agreed! They were all classics and I've seen them all in person (one of the benefits of 18 years at MSG). Tough to find comics who aren't pretty base today but names that Spring to mind that were relatively clean and witty were Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White, Jeff Dunham, Gabreil Iglasias

True and I'm not a prude, even back then we had Lenny Bruce. But you didn't see it in kids shows or on TV until after the kids were in bed. The family hours were just that, mod, dad and the kids all loved those shows.

I bet some of you guys will know, is it harmful to the life of li-po's in notebooks and laptops to leave the power cord plugged in 24/7?
They say it does and it does. But if the power goes out, someone trips over the cord, it whatever, that battery can save a lot of work. So if I am using that machine, I leave them in. If sitting doing nothing, I leave them out. The ones left in have a slightly shorter lifespans than the ones I leave out.

I have a notebook I bought last Dec that I have left plugged in, I use it most here at my desk. Last week, a couple times I took it out to the shop, using the battery I only got about 45 min and it was warning low charge. The second time I made sure it was reading a full charge when I unplugged it thinking maybe the cord wasn't plugged fully in or something, and still short run time, it should get about three hours. I read the manual again and it doesn't say to unplug once charged and I thought they would have a float charging system. Well I still have six months of warranty, I can send it in for repairs, it was cheap RCA with Windows 10. Other then the battery issue it's worked great and has been well worth the money, think it was $110-$125?

Oh I should add, left plugged in, they only charge them up to 100% and stop charging. They won't charge the battery unless it drops down to 96% or so and recharge to 100% again. Well most of them work that way anyway.

That's what I thought, maybe not on this cheap one.

did it get 3 hours to begin with?

Well I think the man says four but the comments I read before I bought it people said it was more like three, I think it would depend on if sitting idle or your using a lot of cpu, I used it a few times when I went to my radiation treatments, sometimes from the house, time there and back was about two and a half hours (on during the ride too but idle). That's the longest I ever ran it on battery, far longer then 45 mn.

Run the pack down once every two weeks or so at very least. If its only 6 months old, you should cycle the 18650 batteries in the pack down to dead and fully recharge a half dozen to a dozen times and they will probably recover a good portion of their life again.

No charging system should float charge lithium batteries, as they don't like that. Trickle charging is ok, if it stops once the current drops below 100ma.

One reason why your capacity is shorter after it has been plugged in 24/7 for a time probably has more to do with heat. Warm lithium batteries goes downhill faster than cooler ones. And the heat isn't from the battery, but from the device itself.

Lithium batteries don't suffer from memory effect, that is when batteries forget what their capacity they are until you drain and recharge them a few times. But lithium batteries do tend to not do well if not used for sometime (like in the device 24/7 running off of AC). But give them a bit of exercise and they tend to bounce right back again.

I was ready to pay the $55 for the polished kit but they sold out when I went back to order it. I was poking around and found the blems by accident (link at the bottom of the page). I wasn't thrilled about the buttons not fitting but for $28/kit, I figured it was worth a shot. The buttons are soft enough that they could be rounded easily with a flat needle file and take the anodizing off the ground contact points (3 stand offs and optionally the 510 threads) with a dremel wire brush. Oh, and cutting the case screws to the right size. These came out much better than I expected. The Keystone 1042 battery sleds fit perfectly with very minor mods. The Silo 75's ends up costing me less than $65 ea. as it sits ($85 for the Silo 200).

I should have ordered a couple of those $28 silo blems, while they were shipping with the 510...now the 510 is extra, and I won't order. :( You snooze you looze.

On the other hand, I did order a K5 from Focal earlier - it says restocking? so I guess we'll see how long it take to come in. I'm guesstimating 3 weeks?
