Bitter here too, at least the winds have died down some but still it's too cold! Where is that global warming?

A "tech blogger" says this cold weather is, indeed, a sign of climate change/global warming. He says all the cold air has left the Arctic and is now over the US. I guess he never bothered to check the temperatures in the Arctic.

We're up to a "balmy" 14.4 with the wind still running 10-20 mph.

Well if the cold temp from the Arctic is now over the U.S. then it's not global "warming" it's "shifting", he needs to get his "facts" (story) straight.

DO you live "down in a holler", Tibs? Sounds like the cold air is concentrating in your backyard. We're at the crest of a little rise, maybe 30 feet over the low spots around here. It is pretty flat, actually, so temps stay fairly even in the whole area.

Started work on swapping out the dna 40 board to a 60 in that Hana V4S mod yesterday, first thing was taking pics of how it was assembled for reference, I was surprised to find they used dna 40D boards in these, D for detachable screens, this is perfect, there's my large screen for the 60 board!

Looks like my 40's stash is going to grow, already have a few new boards I never used LoL. Unfortunately with these, they removed the top half of the Fire button to make them fit in the mod and use wired tac switches but still they are new boards and worth saving. I thought maybe I could take the parts off a scraped clone board (got a pile of those now) and reinstall them on the switch but looking closely I see they weren't careful and broke the retaining nub off the switch body.

Also found Hana used thin solid core wires to save space, actually nice to work with, fold and stuff the wires in place and they stay there. I'll reuse all of the switches and switching wires but I'll replace the Neg, Poss and 510 wires with proper size silicone wire. The 510 is decent, it's the same design a VariTube V1, the body is threaded and screwed in the body, not pressed in.

Gives me something to do inside the house, just too cold out there, even in the shop. I had to replace a tail light bulb in the wife's car yesterday so I ran it in the shop. Even with heaters running, that cement floor is so cold my feet were freezing before I was done. My fingers were numb, all my tools are so cold it was like holding ice cubes, I couldn't get it done fast enough! I'm staying inside!

Hey Willy, Nice buy for $15 :) Plus the detachable screen is a Bonus.
I would have went for the V4d personally, It is a bit bigger, but a 20700 fits in perfectly.
Plus with a few magnets, the door set up is going to last for the long haul, the hinge & latch IDK :(

Yeah the door latch/catch is the weak point, otherwise it'd be a really nice mod. The mod body, door and hinge parts are metal and pretty strong, it's the latch with the plastic parts that's the problem. From the looks of it, I suspect your supposed to pull the latch back when both opening and closing the door, looks like if you forced the door closed forcing the catch back it would put too much downward stress on the plastic button part and I suspect that how this one got broken. I'm going to make a new button from either brass or aluminum, I have scrapes of both in the shop. Dremel for the rough shaping then machinist files for the finishing.
