Sitting down, facing forward.
It's been one of those days. I shoulda stayed in bed and pulled the covers up over my head.

Last night when I went to shut down this craptop I noticed a probelm with Norton AV, so I said "fix it". It ran while I was getting ready for bed and was still running when I went to bed, so I let it run overnight. No biggie.

So this morning it wanted a reboot which I did. BIG mistake. Bottom line is I had to re-install Winderz10 and lost all my installed programs, kept the files, but all the bells and whistles disappeared. When it finally booted up after that, a major update failed and had to be rolled back. That little process only took about an hour. I've spent the afternoon re-installing things and trying to get everything back to what passes for normal.

Then, just to add insult to injury, I couldn't get a connection to my video surveillance server. I tried every trick I could think of and nothing, nada. I could connect to anything on the internet but not to the server here on my LAN. Then, the dawn came...I had to switch it to port 81 from port 80 when I put in a new WiFi router. DUHHHHH.

Nope not really, in a nutshell, aldehydes are not really seen until you reach 440F, and they increase non-linearly as temp increases, at some point shooting through the roof. And you (actually "I") cant taste it until it is already dramatically high.
How accurate are dna's btw, I think I read somewhere it is accurate to -/+ 10F is that true?

So can any body answer? will the AVS SS430 Claptons work in TC on the DNA?

So far, Idk though they are really finicky & we're giving me lots of trouble in the beginning

Hey Kiba, what are you using for a TCR for those SS40 claptons from AVS? They came in today and I ripped out a really nice performing Ti build, put in a clapton and blech. It drops out of TC using the curve from Steam Engine and only runs in power mode. My other complaint is they're so massive it take a while to heat up and cool down, got to remember to keep drawing after taking my thumb off the fire button.

I had the same thing... I think it was bc I didn't pulse them good enough but I'm on the 3rd coil & so far so good, I think there might of been some hot spots.

DNAs are temp "precise" within +/- 10°f however temp "accuracy" depends on many other factors eg. the static res of the mod/atty combo must be compensated for within escribe settings as well as the wire's thermal resistive properties being closely matched to the tfr curve being used. Evolves claim to accuracy would be true if all those factors were known. To the average consumer they are not.
Personally I'm happy with temp precision (repeatability) from pull to pull which DNAs achieve wonderfully. Temp accuracy of +/-10°f on the other hand can only be achieved through the use of a high quality (translated expensive) thermocouple and meter. Short of buying that equipment the best we can do is use high quality resistance wire types with the highest tcr and res value. NiFe52 alloy, Ti, Ni and SS430 fall into this category so from a mathematical and practical perspective they will yield the most accurate results, all other factors being equal.

Now if I had such a meter and thermocouple I would have already tested and created accurate tfr curves for the wires I have. This would be a fairly involved process covering different wire types from different high quality vendors (no chinesium of coarse) and would take some time to accomplish.
As it is I have created custom tfr curves for quite a few different SS316L wire mfgs. I think one of my lavabox 200's has 6 different SS316 curves programmed in it back when I was trying to TC 316 reliably. Of course with no thermal test gear I was just going by the feel of the heat compared to a known Ti build in an identical atty on another lavabox 200. Not very scientific but it served me well, if for nothing else to steer me away from low tcr wire.

My AVS 430SS Claptons Arrived, the last few hours have been teriablly frustrating :(
I cant get them to work in TC, on any thing! not even a Yihi mod :(
I just removed them! I mite revisit them in the future? But all I can say now in thank God for Titanium!!

Steamer, did you pulse them before you used them? I had that same problem and it seemed to go away if you pulse them and get rid of the hot spots, or maybe it's just "firming" everything up. Beats me, but since I pulsed them in an Aromamizer they've been working fine, eating liquid and battery at prodigious rates, but working fine :)
