So bored this morning I jump on youtube to waste some time, I see this video in the list on the right side and click on it, just out of random, not something I was searching for. This guy talks about some stuff many would call "tin foil hat stuff" but he's not talking about it in a wacky way, seem's sincere and more along my thoughts of "this stuff makes me wonder too". I end up watching the entire 25 minuets, so happy I did, the way he ends is spot on, then it ends, I exit full screen and I see the guy's name and it blows me away.

Why, how did I "stumble" across this video on this day? Made by this man with this name.... Do you believe in coincidence's? I don't know...

But if you have the time, I'd urge you to watch it, please, don't let the title put you off, just watch it. Copy and paste the link
youtube.com/watch?v=PkunxuIFSIU

Hope you all have a great day, be happy. :)

Anyone know about tankless water heaters ?
We are looking at splurging on one since I am sure it's past time to replace out water heater (2003 and never been rinsed)
Lowes...Home Depot ?

Given them some thought in the past when my daughter was here, we use to run out of hot water constantly. But now with just the wife and I and the tank heater still working I haven't looked into them further. Sorry, I'm no help here classy....

Most water heaters are Glass lined :) No need to rinse them.
I wouldn't change mine till it was necessary.
The price on the tankless units has been going down since they were introduced, so the longer you wait the cheaper & better they will be :)
Just Saying :)

That's what they made water treatment systems for. Not too expensive, if you do-it-yourself or if SO does-it-himself. Sharkbite connectors take all the headaches out of it, too, no soldering required.

The thing I know about tankless water heaters is that if it is electric you are going to need a bigger electric service or if gas you will need a bigger gas service. The electric ones I have wired for in custom houses needed a 200 Amp branch circuit and the gas ones need a lot larger gas piping.

I'm an old school copper and solder guy and you're right, those sharkbite's are great! I still would solder if doing a new install but for making repairs where water has been in the line, the shakbite is the way to go. If you've ever tried to solder a pipe that's had water in it you know what job it can be, heat pulls the water to the joint which cools the joint and creates steam. So you're fighting to heat enough to solder while also keeping the steam from blowing the solder out of the joint and causing a leak. With the sharkbite, cut, deburr, push the connector on, done!

Amen, I don't answer calls if I don't know who it is, on the home or cell, if they are really trying to reach me they will leave a message but rarely does an unknown number leave one. I consistently get 3-4 calls to my cell every week from unknown numbers around the same time of day, never the same and they never leave a message.

Same with email, if I don't know who sent it I don't click on it, it goes to the junk folder and deleted.
Spoofing caller ID to a number from the same area code, and often on the same exchange as one's cell phone seems to have become the standard mode of operation for spam callers. Bottom line: If you call my cell from a number that's not in my contact list, you go to voicemail. 90-some percent of those calls do not leave a message.
They actually had it spoofed as dell's tech services, which I get calls from many times when there's a bios/vbios or software update that I have to install.

Mine is like the Ebay listing also like the one below:

What size is that mod? i like it a lot but I basically only use that 25mm Aromamizer now.

I know a little, I've had one in the house we used to live in & done some work here & there, like adding recirculation valves & such for them at our old place... & I've done research for smaller ones since I plan to get one in the condo when ours dies, but it won't be for a while bc the tanked one we have is brand new... I like to call them "on-demand" instead of "tankless" bc they do have a tank, which is needed for water to expand. Also, from what I know personally, Alex is right, you'll need to put a thicker gas line or, if you have electric a big line from the breaker (not sure what amperage but I know it's a big one). You'll need a very short, direct vent to the outside though I know they will have soon some smaller ones soon for condos/apts & such that don't require that & can use the one already there...

A couple of things to think about are... they are imo better, & work better overall the smaller your place is. They've been used in Europe for a long time now but we're designed for small places like condos and apartments bc the hot water takes so long to reach the fixtures esp. in a large house. We had these valves that you can get, that basically help that problem by recirculating the hot water back through the cold side & eventually back to the water heater, here's a diagram if that didn't make sense

d1fe24af90e8273e03c4362e4a1fa827.jpg

This helps, with having hot water on demand & will be somewhat comparable to a tanked one if you do that, but it's expensive & a lot of work to add one to every fixture. The other thing is that it probably won't save you any money, the energy ratings are really deceptive but it's hard to compare the two types, especially if you have a decently efficient tanked one, bc the on-demand one ends up doing a lot more work & heating more water, & also its going to have to work harder & more often the bigger your home is.

So yeah, basically it's going to be a big job, you'll need either the thicker gas line in or the bigger line from breaker, & possibly have to move its physical location to accommodate for the very short direct vent it needs to outside, & that's not including the recirculation valves that, if you so choose, will need to be installed at every fixture. I'd say if you have a smaller house, then yeah, go for it but I would not get one with the purpose of saving money, I'd only get it to solve the problem of running out of hot water.

If you need to flush your tanked water heater it's pretty easy to do btw, I did mine when I first moved in here, you just hook up a hose on your sump pump to it's drain plug (on mine it's right above the burner) & let it pump out. I pumped it straight out the back door lol.

Gas or electric?

I've only used one, in a location where space was at a premium. It runs on propane.

Hey Mike, if I remember right you use the Nvidia shields too right? For android TV? I mostly use this controller for it bc of the way the sticks can be used as mouse & the not having to replace batteries... but rn I think the one from my older shield, the one in the living room is dying, would I be correct in assuming there's probably an 18650 in each handle? should be pretty easy to replace right?

Also classy that recirc valve for the on-demand system I mentioned they cost around $50 a pop & they look like this...

Basically you might not need it at all the fixtures esp. the ones closest but that going to really help w/ the further ones when you have like 2+ floors.

I bought a bunch of them, built a couple with 200's and love them. I just got a couple more DNA 75 boards, going to put them in these mods kits with three 900 mah lipo's in parallel, only because I already have six of the 900 cells kicking around and might as well use them seeing they will fit perfectly. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy...0c-lipo-pack-walkera-v120-x100.html?wrh_pdp=2

If your going with a DNA 75 this is an option to :)
I used magnets instead of the case screws :)
Just about any 18650 sled will work :)
The pic is a Silo 950, but the Hana enclosure is the same :)

24mm or less for no over hang
The DIY "Ebay Hana Kit" is the best deal! If you have a chip DNA 75/200/250, you cant go wrong buying it :)

No clue, I use Android TV boxes for Kodi etc. On the higher end of the China clones.

Did you just slide the magnets into the threaded hikes? If you've got a 25mm Aromamizer, would you mind taking a pic with it on, whenever you get a chance I mean.

Oh for some reason I thought you were using the same one as me. btw, I've always wondered... do the Chinese ones have Google assistant?

Also are you able to watch Amazon in it? The shields are the only android I know of that come preloaded with it (if you buy it from Amazon) but I know it's not available in the play store for Android TV.
