Happy berfday tibs
Hey I was gonna ask you guys, is there any way to fix an old washing machine that seems to be leaking from the undercarriage? I checked all the fittings & they're totally dry, (btw, this washer & dryer are the only 2 original appliances left, so they must be about 18 years old) or is it time to get a new one? Wasn't really planning on that rn though, we just got a new fridge. [emoji19]
Depending on the design it might be the water pump or less likely the seal on the bottom of the tub. Being that old it will be easier to work on, myself, I hate replacing things I can fix for a lot less but 18 years, may be time to replace. I'd at least take a look at the what the problem is and the cost of the parts, may be an inexpensive fix that could buy you some time so you can snag a good deal when a sale comes along.
Two online places I like to use are these;
PartSelect Appliance Parts and Repair Help
Appliance Parts and Accessories | Appliance Zone
Get the model and ser# off the washer, go to each of those websites and enter the info. You'll find they list the most common parts that fail for the problem you have and at least one of them has video's showing step by step instructions on how to replace the parts for your model. I'd take a look on those websites first, it may guide you what to look for as far as where the leak is coming from.
