I'd go broke using his technique, it works, just takes too long. On that slick wall I'd roll it close with a snipped foam roller within 1/4" of the trim and cut it in later on that day after the walls are rolled. I use the same brush spreading technique as he does but I leave a double thick bead of paint at the cut in line so when I apply the second cut in coat I'm not cutting in to trim, I'm cutting in to that double thick bead (way faster). Using a roller to distribute the paint before the first cut in cuts paint time by about 30%, leaving the bead cuts the second cut in time by about 30%. If I'm in a super big hurry I use a 12" drywall knife as a guard for rolling close to trim and ceilings. If it's new construction or an empty house I spray everything.
Here's how I cut a line using a slant cut trim brush, couple things I don't do that this guy does, I don't wet or wash my brush before or in the middle of painting, never found that necessary with any paint's I've used. The key is to lay some paint down next to the edge, then come back, press the bristles onto the surface away from the edge so the fan out a little, then walk the bristles to the edge as you pull along, only need a small amount of the bristles to contact the edge, don't want more contact than that, it will only make it harder to cut the edge. Good shot showing how he walks the bristles to the edge at 3:30 mark.

BTW, see how he spins the brush to dry it, do that once done cleaning by spinning the handle back and forth between your palms then put it back in the wrapper it came with and let it dry so it will dry in the shape it was made. Get a decent brush, ($15-$20) keep it clean and store it right and it will last decades, no kidding.

The brushes come like tooth brushes, soft, medium and firm bristles, I'd go with a medium, differently not firm, you want the bristles pliable for cutting in an edge. This is one I've had for well over ten years, love it.
Shop Purdy XL Glide Polyester Nylon Blend Angle Sash Paint Brush (Common: 2.5-in; Actual: 2.5-in) at Lowes.com
I pretty much saved everything you guys said in Google keep notepad so I can look St that while I'm painting. I'll probably wait until next weekend to do it bc getting the paint matched up in that water resistant finish is still in progress. I should be able to do a much better job this time though.

Have you ever had an. Epic build?
I mean so good. It’s all most unbelievable?
You pull it out. & look at it, it looks the same as every other.
Why does it work so good?
I have one or those. Going on now
SS430. Clapton. In an Amitt 25
If. I could repeat. This build over & over. I would be. Set! Or. Even. If. I knew. Why. It was. Working so good would be. Enough

Removed ABP and installed uBlock and I have not see one of those pop ups yet. Logged out and closed the browser etc also didn't need to create a specific rule. I think we have a winner in uB.
Ive been running uB all along, but I just noticed a popup setting and am trying that.

Sitting down, facing forward.
uBlock won't work in FireFox Ultimate so I just put in the extension for FireFox. It's worked on other sites but I haven't seen anything here, lately. I, too, have an ECF tab open all day and just do a refresh when I sit don for a few minutes.

I think the biggest key to those "epic build" is actually the wicking. One of my Merlins was doing fine with 26 gauge Ti but it was time for a new build. I used 28 gauge, twisted, Ti and it was blahhhh. It was fine, but not as good as the single 26 gauge. Last time I filled it I trimmed the wicks just a little for length and thickness. Made a night and day difference. The problem is the differences are so subtle that it's hard to see where the mistakes are.

This is my first run with it, I disabled the ABP Extension and installed uB with it's defualt settings.

I use 26g TI almost exclusively, and I agree, it seems to be all about getting that rayon right. Its as temperamental as a.........

I agree the wicking is part of it, but it's more than just that.
Lets face it there are a lot of variables! But when you get most of them just right, it's an Epic Build :) Or "Good Carma" :)
The funny thing is it's Orange Cream & SS 430! Not my favourite juice or Wire

Post attempt #3:

I used to get epic builds once in a while but for the last 2 years it's rare that they aren't. Storms are keeping my internet too slow or I share my secrets.

My builds are pretty Good most of, if not all the time. I get really good consistency all ready.
But When Every little detail just Clicks, it's a rare occurrence :)
I'v had this Ammit 25 for a long time now, I'v built it dozens of times & wicket it even more!
But it's never clicked like it does today :)
Some atty's I got their number :) Like the Pharaoh, I can consistently make it vape like a Boss!
But even then a few mm in coli hight difference & Poof it's gone :(

Right, lots of variables, some controllable and easy to duplicate, some not so much. Wicking for instance is the bane of vaping. There's little one can do but develop their technique through trial and error.
The one thing that stands out in the pics I see of builds is poor symmetry. This aspect of the build can be nightmarish to perfect or very easy to control with the right winding tool and is paramount to a consistently epic vape. A sloppy build is nigh on impossible to wick with consistent results and often times, if not always, forces the use of more wicking than would otherwise be necessary to have adequate wick-to-wire contact.
One secret to my success is tension winding my coils. Single strand, twisted, spaced, contact or claptons, doesn't matter, they are all wound with a good deal of tension on the wire. Tension winding overcomes the wire's internal stresses and creates new stresses that encourage the coil wire to maintain its new shape. The other secret is to pre-bend the coil legs to whatever shape necessary to fit the post hole spacing so as to not distort an otherwise perfectly symmetrical coil.
An example of a pretty good tension wound build, not perfect but good enough.

You know Cig, with all due Respect. I'm going to disagree :( Pretty/simetrical don't mean well performing.
IMO it's more about size/positioning of coil, how the Air flows around & proper wicking.
It becomes a balance of how fast/much juice comes into the coil as compared to how much Air & how its flowing around in the chamber. (lots of variables)

The more practice you can get on a particular atty, the more it will give up it's secrets on how it wants to work best. It's trial & error & it's not easy! You can't see whats going on :(
You have to guess, the wicking could be right but the coil hight wrong, or there could be to much air flow for the speed of the wicking. When you start adding all these variables up.
To get the right size coil positioned perfectly wicking just right & the Air flowing around how it should in the right proportion. To get that epic build is rarer than "Hens Teeth"

There are different degrees of "Working Well" All my atty's work well :)
But like today, all of a sudden, this atty is working better than usual, Why?
I pulled it a part & For the life of me I can't tell, every thing looks the same as usual. The vapour is thick, dense & more flavourful! WHY! IDK :(
But some thing is different obviously, it's working Way Better :)

You know, I'm just touching the tip of the ice berg on variables.
Wire type, temp, juice viscosity, wicking material, personal taste! ect..ect...
It's like trying to make the Perfect vegetable soup Blind Folded :(

You think that even building a new perfect build still has a flaw that it still needs to be broken in? I just had a deck that I wanted to move to a bigger tank (decks are changeable) to keep the same flavor to the new larger tank. I saw the coils and wick and I said ick! That was it and I rebuild it to that looking like the ick looking one. Went to vape and it was ok, but that Grimm Creations Latte tasted plain and didn't have all of those wonderful hints of different flavors like before. Ran 4ml through it and it is getting closer. Maybe running through 4ml or 8ml more and it just might be as pretty close as before.

I get the break-in with the Ti, But with the SS430 I glow it red hot, So break in is minimal.
I'm just trying to make a point. It's hard, some times darn near imposable to make a build work Perfectly consistent ever time, the slightest little change in one of the many variables can throw the thing off :(
Some times it works Good! To Good! & I cant even explain Y!
