I agree and would add that so long as third party payers exist then there is no consumer incentive to shop price. Then to that I would add one more, if a consumer is interested in cost control it is very very difficult, if not impossible in some cases, to price compare. Both are by design - it is not a bug, it is a feature.
There is one place I know of that does consider it a bug:
Surgery Center of Oklahoma | Free market-loving, price-displaying, state-of-the-art, AAAHC accredited, doctor owned, multispecialty surgical facility in central OK.

But the ACA's ban on doctor-owned hospitals effectively prevents anyone from duplicating that sort of business model.

You can't fault a fraternity that donates $5M+ to charity each day.

Agreed. Dad never talked about it and I never asked, only thing he said was it wasn't what a lot of people think. Dad was the most honest and kindest man I've ever known, if it was something fishy I know he wouldn't have been involved. Dad left big shoes to fill, if at the end I can look back at my life and say I was a fraction of the man he was I'd be satisfied. I still miss him terribly, he was my hero.

We will find that bug and crush it until it is but powder leaving all in fear and trembling to ever attempt such heresy ever again.

That's amazing, never seen such a thing! Love the concept!

There was a time when they were relatively common in the mid-west. The concept can work but it provides a huge opportunity for corruption.

It's a 3D printed squonk case from Analog Box mods, he sprays them with truck bed liner after they are printed.

Install your own parts and go. ;)

Sorry for the lowrez web cam pics...

It is an image from the interwebs, hard to find pictures that will scale down to 80x80 decently.
I think i might need that mod, is analog box mods. ca?
I'm glad to know it is helping some people, I don't have a problem with that and I'm all for helping each other. It just drives me insane they took our insurance away from us in the process and forced me into medicare, not something I wanted, I'd gladly go back to paying for the blue cross we had. We were even happy to pay a little more the first year it went up knowing people were being helped, but then the next two years when it skyrocketed beyond affordable and now has left us in peril, that's not right. But when I heard, "We have to pass it before we know what's in it" told me there was a lot being hidden from us and we were being lied to, and now here we are.......
Yeah I totally understand it hasn't helped everyone I know probably more people that are in your situation where it went the other way but for me & my gf it has actually been good. I just wanted to put that out there.

There is a lot of misinformation and the conspiracy nuts love to link the Masons into their foolishness.
When someone tells me that the Masonic "Old Boys Club" are just there to line their pockets, I send them this.

Yes it is but he stopped selling those cases and has an aluminium version now.

He did release the files to Thingverse though if you can get someone to print it.
DNA 75/75c Squonk Box Mod by AnalogDan
I'd probably just get the aluminum one then... What sled/bottle etc. and what all else do you recommend having already done it? & is there one that's pre-drilled for the squanking 510?

No, what ever the traffic will bare, hence the opportunity for chicanery.
Right. Why do we put up with that in health care, but no other industry? Would you eat in a restaurant that didn't have prices on their menu and refused tell you how much your meal would cost until after you'd eaten it? Would you have your car worked on in a shop that refused to provide an cost estimate for the work to be done in advance?

Looks good man. You and the GF are probably the only one's with a critical eye in your place. Visitors just want a drink or food. 10 years later, I'm the only person that notices a great join I did on a 3 foot piece of crown molding, just because I was too lazy to cut a solid length.
Did you have to remove all your stuff when you put in the crown molding? I did ours (was my first time) but I had to do it before we moved in. We had started to move stuff in & I had to move it back out bc I couldn't figure out how to do it with our stuff there & some of the peices had to be really long... There's a couple of spots like these ones that I'm not super happy with but overall it's OK imo & I don't think I could of done it any other way.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Crown molding is real PITA! I remodeled a house built in 1850 and they wanted crown molding, four layer crown molding. I think I spent two weeks on the dining room, alone. Looked great when it was done though, all "snap" fit before being nailed.

I know what 3 piece is but what is 4 piece? My place is a condo so something big would've looked silly.

No, just worked around it all. In our Dining room is a massive (4 person to lift) table, and China cabinets stayed in place. Family room we moved everything to the center, or enough room to get 2 step ladders in there. Bathroom was a 1 man job, toilet and pedestal sink left in place. Brad nailer and portable compressor.
I made little cutoffs about 6 inches in length with the different types of corner and joiner cuts with pencil scribble on them to remind me how to position the actual molding for the mitre saw, as I cut them all flat, visible side up. I think the pro's make their complex cuts with the flat sides on the bed and rip fence ?

It looks OK Kiba, definitely a challenging corner to crown for a first timer.

True pros cope the crown for inside corners. We run the first piece to the inside corner and then cope the mating piece. That technique allows the crown moulding to expand and contract w/o opening up big visible gaps. Outside corners are cut on a mitre saw upside down, with the mitre saw table representing the ceiling plane and the fence representing the wall plane. We clamp a strip of wood to the fence as a stop block so that the crown sits in the mitre saw at the proper angle every time.
I've been installing crown for 20 yrs. and still have to cut cheater pieces to get the orientation correct every time.

    "Lisdexics Untie"!
