You have no idea how much this mirrors my life! LoL Worst part is my ears ring badly, she'll say, "Hear that?" and I'll hear nothing, she takes it that I'm just trying to get out of working on her car. And it only happens on long trips, and she'll keep it up for hours, "There it is again, tell me you don't hear that!"

One day she kept it up and finally I said, "You want to know how to stop that?" How she replied, I reached over and turned the radio up, wow did she get even madder!! Oh how those German women can fly off the handle and never let it go...

(Sorry tibs )
Thanks for the good laugh!

I have lived that EXACT same scenario "There it is again, tell me you don't hear that!" for christ sakes woman it's a 10yr old car! "Well then you need to take it in and get it checked" and then the routine of what she thinks it "might be" starts... :glare:

I'll get, "Is it going to break down?" My reply, Well if it does, that's why I pay for you to have Triple A.....

Sitting down, facing forward.
People that don't have tinnitus, ringing in the ears, have no idea what we, that do, can hear or can't hear and why we need some kind of background noise like a radio or TV all the time. The thing that makes it frustrating, for me, is that I have problems with higher pitched sounds, like a woman's voice, while I can hear thunder two states away.

Yup same here, missing the higher frequencies and I too need background noise or it will start to drive me nuts. I sleep with the TV on all night, I just can't fall asleep in a quite room. In a crowded room with lots of cross talk conversation (like at thanksgiving) I can hear people talking but I'll mis-take one word for another, things people say won't make sense because I'm not hearing all the words they are actually saying, I do a lot of head nodding in agreement without replying. And that can bring strange looks when someone is expecting a reply and I just nod....

Willie I get the migraines from back pain all the time, (my injury is in the lower back) I get it mostly from that new hot needle thing now on my upper back that I was asking about a few months ago, which btw I tried a bunch of stuff (chiropractor, PT, yoga, accupuncture etc) I'm currently working with my PT on strengthening the upper back muscles but it hasn't really helped. Idk about pixelated vision but I get a head rush, not quite a dizzy feeling but sort of I guess & my vision darkens sometimes when I stand up while my knees feel like jell-o, the best way to describe it is my brain feels like it's losing reception with the rest of my body... If I stand still & steady myself it'll go away shortly, the Dr's haven't been able to figure that one out but I think it has to do with my weight loss thing. I'd def get yours checked though just to make sure.

I also have really bad tinnitus but my gf is really understanding of it, like how I have to have the TV on literally all the time & while we sleep, & how I Bluetooth podcasts while I'm taking a shower in the morning while she's trying to sleep in the next room (for some reason shower/rain etc is most unbearable for me). She does nag me about other things ofc but never that, if it's loud enough to disturb the neighbors & I don't realize she'll just turn it down herself.

I don't do the polite nodding thing anymore though I just do a blank stare, if someone wants to get my attention they know how to do it. What I really love though is when someone is talking quietly & I'm missing like 50% of the words, especially when I obviously don't hear them & they walk up & tap me on the shoulder to get my attention & start speaking in a whisper... I go, sorry you're going to have to speak up, & each time they increase the volume of their voice by 1%, like 8 times.

btw it's still raining here I got a pic of the lightning while we were out getting freyon for my gf's car.

Another thing you might want to try, on youtube they have 6-8 hour long videos that have no moving picture but they are background sounds for sleeping or meditation, I have a few favorite that are gentle thunderstorm and rain soundtracks, one is rain on a tin roof with distant thunder, the other is rain recorded inside a car. Makes it easy to fall asleep listening to those and it gives a pleasant all night background noise. They have all kinds, music, sounds of the woods, creeks, ocean waves, check em out.

Good capture of that lighting bolt!

My wife is an automotive repair prophet, not kidding. If something's acting up on one of our rides she'll say, "maybe it's the distributor", or "maybe it's the torque converter" or whatever. Thing is she's right over 90% of the time!! How she does it I haven't a clue. If I opened the hood she couldn't even point to the distributor and doesn't know where a torque converter is located either. Last time I had a weird intermittent problem with engine power output and she says, "Have you checked the catalytic thingy lately?". I respond, "No honey that's not it or I'd hear it rattling". She was right again.

Almost totally Deaf here and I still get the tinnitus ringing thing. Worse yet is the earwigs I get of songs and music! Even though I can't hear any sounds without hearing aids I get the songs stuck in there and can't get them out! I have lost all word recognition and need to see lips move to try to guess what the word is, completely lost if I don't now the topic of the conversation. With hearing aids I still only "hear", sounds not words so sometimes I have to make up what I think was said,,, and let me tell you sometimes I can really make up stuff.

Migraines, used to get them really, really bad 20 - 30 years ago. Dr.'s I have seen all say the same thing, Not much we can do for you. Gave up drinking and that seemed to help. Gave up sugar everything, and that seemed to help. I think I out grew them, nothing in the last 10 years or so.

Along with the migraines I would also lose my vision. Ocular migraines. What I would see can be described as like what you would see after a flash bulb went off in your face. A jagged lightening bolt that went on for hours. (Not a good thing when you are a tig welder)

Well, Torch was on my system long enough to find out it's a Google product. So much for that. I don't chase media anyway so no big loss.

Yeah it's Chrome based, good thing is you can disable and delete all the add on extensions, if you change your mind I'd be happy to show you how. uBlock also works well with it.

I've built a huge MP3 music file of all my old favorite rock and roll songs :headbang: I have 100's of them and they all came from youtube using the media grabber. Now these songs are considered "classic" not sure if they are trying to say I'm old or if it's a joke, maybe it's a mistake....

OK, so I've had that jagged lightening bolt twice but only 1/2 a circle on the left side of my vision, a bright yellowish color, always followed with the pixelation. Just read the info on the link you posted and I was surprised to see lack of sleep being a cause, well that's a big problem with me.

After my amputation, I couldn't sleep eight hours straight, for a long time I had bad nightmares and would wake up shortly after falling asleep. With time it got better, the nightmares stopped but I haven't had a good eight hour sleep since, it's always a few hours here and there and usually because I'm exhausted. I've also had this twitching, jerking of muscles when falling asleep, when it happens it snaps you back to wide awake. It happens when your almost asleep but still slightly awake, that started right after the amputation too, the first time I tried to sleep. They tell me it's part of the brain that's gone into sleep mode while part hasn't, you know how a pet will move it's feet when sleeping, it's like that but it happens before you reach deep sleep. Yeah, I don't remember what a good nights sleep is like anymore, usually I'm up most of the night, I'll catch a few hours from 3-4 to 6-7 AM then a couple naps here and there throughout the day.

Yesterday I bought out my Silo DNA250 with a Wotofo Serpent on it and it wouldn't fire due to no 510 connection so I fiddled with the 510 screw on the Serpent and messed up something internally which resulted in a dead short. Proceeded to put on A 25 mm K5 and got same "check atomizer" message. Fiddled with the mod's 510 thinking it was stuck down a bit but no.
Today on a piece of sandpaper I took down a spare 510 screw insulator from a Kv4 on both side as well as the "non-locater" side of the existing 510 insulator. My 510 on this K5 is now more in line with the length of most 510's....fixed.

I'm trying to remember the last time I owned a car that actually had a distributor. I think that was at least 20 years ago. Maybe 25. :D

my gf would probably like that but I'm surprised you can do the water sounds, rain & shower stuff turns my ringing into, like a hissing sound with little drops in between. I Bluetooth podcasts on a waterproof speaker in the shower.

I usually put on whatever I've been watching at the time, rn I think I've been working on the same "the expanse" episode for about a week. I try to take the pills as little as possible since I went green but if there's still too much pain to sleep I will, when that happens I could probably sleep even with the TV off.
