Who shrunk my cheese? Wifey came home with a big block of our standard choice for american cheese, Kraft Deli Deluxe (not individually wrapped slices). The slices look like they're 20% smaller than before. Is nothing sacred anymore? :-x
Actually I have one unopened package of the old size left (best by Feb 2019) and that is 24 slices per lb. And the new packaging (best by Dec 2018 - why does the new have a shorter shelf life?) is 36 slices per lb. So it is more than a 20% reduction, it's a 1/3 reduction in size. :-x

They sell it both ways (2 different thickness's), just depends on which version you deli is stocking.

Are you sure we are talking about the same Kraft Deli Deluxe American Cheese? They came in two sizes from what I recall, 12oz and 16oz packages. The 16oz had two stacks side by side in a ziplock packaging so you can reseal it. And I never seen them in the deli section, but by the prepackaged lunch meat and cheese section of the stores. Here is the Walmart link for it (yellow and white).

Almost all local grocery stores here would carry it. But now all of them has been replaced by Kraft Deli Deluxe American Cheese 36 slices. No mention of this cheese on Kraft's website or even Walmart's. Even the Walmart in my area says 24 sliced one is stocked here, but it isn't. Just the 36 sliced one.

I go through phases with cheese for slamwiches, the last six months I've been on a swiss kick, before that it was provolone, about time to rotate back to good old Kraft. For snacking I like Hell of a Good extra sharp NY cheddar, got that from Dad, the local cider mill has a great horseradish cheddar that's pretty damn good to. My grandmother use to send my Dad out to pick up her brick of government cheese, then she would divide it up and hand it out to everyone in the family. I really liked that cheese, made a good mac and cheese, wish I could find it in the stores but none of them taste the same.

I just ran across this site this morning you might want to check out:

Cheese | Premium Deli Products | Boar's Head

One of the best cheese curds and smoked string cheese I ever had comes from this place (they are next door to a cheese factory). I just ordered some this morning in fact. I could have driven there, but the shipping vs. gas for my car costs about the same, so I just had them ship it.

cheese | Kugel's Cheese Mart

It's like a gost town around here
ghostslider-950x450.jpg

So I pulled out the dual coils in my Kryten RSA that were two strands of tight twisted Unkamen's 28 gauge SS430 and replaced them with single strand SS430. 7.5 wraps on 2.7 mm shaft, they look pretty tiny. Anita @ 50 watts, 430F TC can handle them quite well, just didn't have enough stuff for the larger wire. Works very well

"didn't have enough stuff for the larger wire" Didn't have enough building supplies or not enough room for the coils? I'd be interested to hear how long you get before your coils crud up. I'm stuck in a rut I can't seem to find a way out of, I've been using 26 ni200 for nearly the same build as yours but in a mizer, works wonderful, great flavor, tons of vapor, but I only get 2-5 days (depending on the juice) before the coils are cudy enough I have to rebuild. I've tried other TC wires but haven't liked because of either I can't get the same flavor or they don't preform as well, lack or vapor. I love what I get with the nickle but I am not a fan of building, I read how folks get very long life from a build, it amazes me because I have never had that experience, even with store bought coil heads or using flavorless juice. I'm jealous and in envy of those who get weeks from a build, for me it's a fantasy I doubt will ever come true.

In a perfect world, I'd have a single TC clapton that would last a couple weeks, man I'd love that! I played with claptons, LOVE them but I can't vape without TC, just can't do it.

I have plenty of wire and plenty of room just not enough power to fire them up quick. I haven't used Ni since the DNA200's came out.
I probably get well over 100 ml before dry burn and new wick.
I'd say time is determined by what juice is used. Way back I used a juice that required a new build daily.

Say SlickWilly, have you tried 26/32 nickel Claptons? Here is one after 3 months (over a liter of juice through it). And I just pull the wicking out, set the temp to 600°F. And then run it under cold tap water. Then it looks brand new again.

Ni200 26-32 Clapton - 3 months old_2sm.jpg

This was also my second attempt with rayon I think. The rayon looks worse from this angle as it really doesn't look that bad. But I was getting a weird taste from my Dead Rabbits RDAs. Kind of like a new cotton ball kind of taste even with rayon over several weeks. I thought maybe I was getting a sensitivity towards nickel over 3 years of using it.

I pulled this coil out and replaced it with UD 26g SS316L. Nope, weird taste is still there. Flavor was otherwise fine and everything. But like you, it was gunking up horribly every 2-5 days with the same hazelnut cappuccino juice those Claptons were vaping. It won't clean off by heating and running it under cold water either. I'm thinking about trying some SS26/K32 Claptons next to see how that works out. Although nothing wrong with my nickel Claptons to be honest. Especially now I know that weird taste isn't from nickel. ;)
