Sitting down, facing forward.
About a year and a half ago I ordered a mod that was on sale from Gear Worst. After charging my credit card, I got an email the next day saying they had made a mistake and would not honor the price they posted. Took over a week to get the credit back. First and last time for Gear Worst!

GB's the only place I could find for those soldering 'helping hands'. Somewhere here I have the OG with 2 or 3 Alligator clips on a heavy base. They have that, but also one with 6 arms that twist and bend. The base doesn't look sturdy. I think I bought my POS Serpent SMM there.

Built my own from a piece of old scrap metal and the parts below

I had the exact same experience, on the same mod as you if I recall, never even browsed their website since.

Yeah that's what it was mikepetro. How do ya like it? And sure as tomorrow's Thursday, I see this for the clips 'This item does not ship to Canada'. Now I'll go search the .ca version. Thanks.
It comes in handy at times, I suggest putting a strand of heavy 8awg single strand copper through the oiler tube as sometimes they arent stiff enough for heavy items and/or heavy hands.

ETA: or a coat hanger wire would work.

The world is a odd place. I personally never had any luck with Evolv customer service myself (the opposite of everybody else). I requested a RMA back in June 2016 and I have been waiting ever since. In 2018 Nick (Evolv) read about my story somewhere and contacted me. He said he was going to take care of that one and three others that failed since then and he was going to send RMAs for all of them. And once again a couple of months later I am still waiting. I still buy their products though. Theirs are better than anybody else. I just never had any luck with their service though. :(

Also, keep the oiler tubes as short as practical, the long full length tubes shook/jiggled too much. I ended up taking almost half the length off.

When was this date you ordered from GB dwcraig1? Because when they first opened their doors I heard they were just awful. But then they cleaned up their act (by Dec 2015 they were fine). Although I suppose there are lots of upset people about them out there. In my 20 orders from them, I ordered 32 different items. And not a single one was wrong or wrong color or anything. :)
05-08-2015....was my first and last purchase from them.

I made one like that as well from the same kind of tubing. :thumb: These are the ones I got https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008O14864
I added a dollar store magnifying glass to one of the arms and I put good quality heat shrink tubing on the jaws of the clamps, protects things from getting dug up from those teeth. Very handy tool and would be a lot tougher soldering some stuff without them.

I took one of the pieces I had left and made a jig to hold my coil decks while rebuilding, that's a base of a Kanger T3S atty that by pure luck happen to the right size that I could force thread onto the bulb end of the tubing $2.79 Authentic KangerTech T3S Bottom Coil Clearomizer (2.4mL) - translucent / 1.8ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
This is the bench vise in the pic, handy and inexpensive little vise. 2-1/2 in. Table Swivel Vise

Ah yes... GB were just horrible at that time. Nobody was happy with them and I thought they were going to go under. I don't even think they were a year old yet back then. :(

I just received my Clapton's from Lightning Vapes, cute little buggers, they threw in a sample pack of cotton bacon. It was $9.99 for 10 way cheaper than some other US places.
So I pull out my trusty green screwdriver that I use to make 2.7 mm coils and learn that it has been 2.5 mm all this time....DUH
I guess I'll go ahead and throw one in and see how it goes. I wish they were SS340 instead of 316L.

So I brought out the DNA Inbox75, it didn't like the TCR of 088 (.00088) either. I'm more aware now than ever why I use SS430. I'm having to set these 316L Clapton's almost the same as 430.
Still testing, going to give it a chance, but thinking I like my twisted 28 430 better.

Yup no shipping to Canada from GB :(
I will agree that it is one of my least favourite China sites :(
But, they have way better sales than any one else! Some time's you can get a really good Deal!!
Oh well, I'm not buying any thing till the posties are off strike any way.

I find a lot of 316L wire vapes better at the 430 TCR
Well I'm looking at it from two sides, 1 how the board handles it in TC and how it vapes.
But the playing field is not equal as I'm comparing 3 strand 28 gauge 316L wrapped with 36 gauge 316L against 2 strand twisted 28 430 using a mod that lacks preheat/boost.
I'm trying to compensate by increasing the wattage and relying on temp limit but ramp up is slower than I like.
