Really? When I was a teenager, I bought a VW Beetle. The engine had no oil filter, so you have to change the oil more often. The gas? Used a stick to check how much gas you had in the tank. Window washer? No pump, used air from your spare tire. Heat? No heat in the winter and I had to use an ice scrapper while I was driving on the inside windshield. Battery? It was under the back seat and when someone sits back there it would smoke because the seat springs were shorting out the battery. Yeah that was some fine engineering alright.

LoL, yeah those early bugs were the cheapest VW's made, they were made to be cheap. I wouldn't throw all American cars under the bus because of the Pinto, Vega, AMC Pacer, Corvair, Chevette, complete line of GM X body and the Mustang II.

I keep my Dicode manual (PDF) on the desktop as I don't really change it much after initial setup.
I do look at it once a month or so.

After seeing that menu, I think I'll stick to eScribe.

One advantage is having all of this configuration on the mod itself without external software.

I guess they are trying to catch up to vaping 2013. And before they caught up with everyone else and finally added a screen, they had one LED light and you had to count the flashes of what was going on. I suppose they haven't grasp the idea of firmware updates yet?

I guess they are trying to catch up to vaping 2013. And before they caught up with everyone else and finally added a screen, they had one LED light and you had to count the flashes of what was going on. I suppose they haven't grasp the idea of firmware updates yet?

Firmware updates are coming. The FL80 board like I have has the option for USB but communications via USB is still in beta..

No I like them. What else can you pull four bolts, drop the engine, pick it up and set it on your workbench and rebuild an engine within a couple of hours?

And Dicodes are ok if you have lots of money, don't mind carrying a manual, and use low wattages.

I guess this isn't exactly the place to post this but I'm surely not going to post it "over there", here goes:
The spring in my Dicodes 2380's 510 make the one in the "E" mod seem like it's from an ink pen.
I actually think maybe it's too strong, might wear out the threads.....LOL

Options are good. Keeps the market evolving (no pun intended).
60w is enough for most anything I do.

Honestly, so far this board seems decent. The learning curve is steeper than most, like most German engineered stuff, but the board also has a lot of capability. I will let you know in a day or two after I get it tweaked in and vape for a while.

Do the Dicode boxes have preheat in TC mode, my tube doesn't.
It does have a good selection of boosts in power mode though.

I dont know yet. mine is the "Modders Board" put into a STAB box. I will play with it and let you know.

Funny... I had no interest in DNA mods until I learned that I didn't have to tear my mods apart to scope them anymore. Just plug in an USB cable and you're good to go. Within four months, I went from zero DNAs to nine.

I do that sometimes with my DNA 75's and 200's but I don't set the wattage much higher then is needed to reach the temp set. If it should ever fall out of TC when set at max 200 watts, that could be ugly, I wouldn't want to be in mid draw.

Dicodes menu is a royal PITA until you get used to it. The manual is not the greatest. I do miss escribe in setting it up. But..... you dont need a computer to set it up, double edge sword.

TC is rock solid though with my TI coils.

Power boost appears to a separate and distinct mode from TC, bummer. Set watts at max and letting TC throttle does work, and the delay is only noticeable if I am distinctly looking for it.

Many years ago I went from twisting wrenches only on American made cars to a VW, Audi & Porsche dealership. It took me about a year to get use to the German way of thinking behind their designs, about another year to grow very fond of them. They design and make some nice stuff, different for sure but well thought out and well made. I can't say if it still holds true, but the German's workers use to have pride in their work, something that I have seen slowly degrade here.

I still love the great American made muscle cars, beefy and powerful, I miss the cars I use to own and would love to have them back today. I also miss the early VW Rabbit GT's and Scirocco's I owned, while they didn't have the horsepower, man they would stick to the road like glue at high speeds in corners.

That's because we have lots of twisty 60 mph limit roads that are not quite wide enough for 2 European cars let alone America muscle cars. If you liked VWs then try a BMWs they are far more fun on twisty mountain roads or making your passengers loose their lunch on a roundabout. I just have s 2 litre estate (station wagon) it only does a bit over 135 mph, I've only had it at 125, but can do 60 mpg and sticks to the road like glue.
