Really? When I was a teenager, I bought a VW Beetle. The engine had no oil filter, so you have to change the oil more often. The gas? Used a stick to check how much gas you had in the tank. Window washer? No pump, used air from your spare tire. Heat? No heat in the winter and I had to use an ice scrapper while I was driving on the inside windshield. Battery? It was under the back seat and when someone sits back there it would smoke because the seat springs were shorting out the battery. Yeah that was some fine engineering alright.![]()
LoL, yeah those early bugs were the cheapest VW's made, they were made to be cheap. I wouldn't throw all American cars under the bus because of the Pinto, Vega, AMC Pacer, Corvair, Chevette, complete line of GM X body and the Mustang II.
