Sitting down, facing forward.
I've used 14 gauge on both ends in one mod and 14 gauge on the battery with 16 gauge on the 510 in another. I'm trying to keep voltage drop/sag to a minimum so the bigger wire to the battery. There was a slight, .003 ohm, increase in mod resistance between the 14 and 16 gauge wire to the 510, but keep in mind we're talking under an inch of wire in both cases.

Current, current, current. Did I mention current? After watching voltage sag during preheat using a stock Keystone battery sled I went on a quest to get that sag down as far as possible, shaving every possible millivolt. That means milliohms, and even less, of resistance needs to be eliminated. I'm not known, locally, as "Mr. Overkill" for no reason. It fits in the case with no problems and can easily be soldered to the board, so why not?

I went with 16 ga on both ends but then again I know I'll never push mine past 50% of capability. If I was building it for someone else I'd use the max wire recommended. I've tested some of my builds by checking the wires and solder joints for any signs of warming up while firing under a heavy load.

At 64 not that much I can do about now it but it looks just as good as when I was 17 but I appreciate it more now than then.... go figure.
BTW, my wife is 25 years younger than me, she was 23 and I was 48 when we hooked up.
(just mean I ain't chasing it, I've leaned my lesson by now)

I've got one of these on my keychain, does that even count? You would not believe how many times I use it, it's always there when I need it........

Where did you get that? I want one! :)

I used to work at a job installing networks back before 10BaseT, think LatticeNet. Anyhow, one of our big customers was Uncle Sam and I was forever going in and out of Federal facilities, and this was back in the late 70's early 80's. I was in LA working in a Federal Facility, downtown, and got stopped the second day going in. I had a stainless steel money clip that had a tiny folding knife and fingernail file in my pocket and hence in the basket of things that might set off a metal detector. I was told that it was a "banned weapon", the blade was, at most, an inch long. I carefully explained to the supervisor that I was doing work in the building and had a tool box full of sharp and nasty cutting instruments at the work location, the US Attorney's Office, that had been through security when I came in the first time. Common sense is not an option. After some discussion, and phone calls, I did get through with that money clip and never had a problem again.
When I was working in data centers pre-9/11, I went thru metal detectors every time and I had my pocket knife like the Cryo. Never had any issues with security then. After 9/11, they tried to take it. Same guys, same place (I worked at multiple data centers like Exodus, L3, Sprint, etc). I left it in my tool bag and had no problems carrying it in.

Ok. Just googled UK knife rules. You can't carry a knife with a blade longer than 3" in public "without good reason" and if charged, the courts decide if you had a good reason. What a vague and strange law.
NJ has similar laws but with everything. It's so vague that you can be charged with a deadly weapon if you attack someone with a breadstick.

So wire size are you guys using for the battery and 510?

I used 16g on my mods. Like others, I'm not a high wattage vaper but I don't see why it wouldn't hold up.

Thanks, KTM, on my wish list already for the next time I order.

I meant to mention that when I was doing that work I had to have a background check and was issued a security clearance, we were working in "highly sensitive" areas. That really made me kind of laugh when I got stopped.

Another fun fact I've been working 7 nights a week for the last 19 years, had 1 day off in the last 10 years (medical procedure, test).

Well about seven years ago on a hot summer night there was "something" that my family and some other people saw in our little village, people from all sides of the village saw it. Enough that the fire dept was searching the hillside for "something". All I'll say is you can't unsee what you've seen, it will make you look up every time you step outside at night.

I've seen some things, man, and some stuff. I wouldn't recommend it.....

See my sig line.....
