I have one of those, too, along with the "hand grenade" to match with it.

yeah but just like a coil, the element resistance will change as it gets warmer, therefore a TC capable device component would afford much more control over the "hue" emitted.

OMG, that brings up a blast from the past. One of my very first co-op purchases. Modded them and put ceramic wicks in them. Still have one in my desk drawer at work as an emergency atty.
