There has to be an explanation? The jfc holds back the juice just above were your leaking from.
Good probability the juice is slipping thru there, or the tank isn't sealing in the vacuum properly?
These thing have a way of working them selves out :) hopefully sooner than later

Maybe it's the press fit between the jfc and afc? I've had that weeping on several attys designed with jfc.

Sitting down, facing forward.
One more SS comment...I NEVER dry burn the coil for any reason and with Temco wire there's no need to temper it to get a decent coil. With the cost of the wire and how easy it is to make a coil (or coils), it just isn't worth dry burning, to me anyway, to try to clean them. The same is true of Ti and it eliminates any changes in the wire that overheating might introduce.

So...
The meaning of all this...
Is temp control really of an import to a tootle puffer type chain vaper or more for a cloud chaser type ?

It could be either. Its about how hot your coil is getting. And those dry hits are especially bad!

For example a Tootle Puffer might be running a tiny coil, that coil might still get above the 470F levels. Other videos in this series report that the ole CE4 atties were especially bad in this regard. And dry hits are off the charts when it comes to formaldehyde.

Now a cloud chaser might have built a coil with massive surface area but it never gets that hot. Its possible.

Many folks running VV or VW devices are probably safe if they arent cranking it up. However, it all depends on the juice (high VG being worse), the coil (CE4s BAD), etc, and there are lots of possible combinations.

Folks wont know if they dont have TC capable device, they can only guess. If you want to play it "safe" get a TC device and keep it at 450ish or below.

I have mechs and recently some ProVaris.
Sadly I never followed the TC info as it evolved - I am clueless.

Not saying they are "unsafe". It all depends on the atty, the juice, and how hard you run them. The thing is you dont have any idea of what the temp really is. You might be in the safe range, you might not be.

You mentioned chain vaping. Other studies have shown that successive hits (on a VV/VW or unregulated device) in a short period of time keep going up in temp. Hit #5 might be 100 degrees hotter than hit #1 was.

The temp over time increase thing wasnt in this study. It was referenced by another video in that same conference. This video was by our own @Kurt who also attended:

Start watching about 20 minutes into it:

John's chart hits on this, at 10w the average temp was 492F.

so...I am about 9w +/- with my builds...seems I am 'vaping ok' ?
lol...looks like having several devices in front of me to switch around on is a good thing too.
(I don't like a warm vape)

(guess my body was 'telling me'...)
