We've scheduled many of the site's cron jobs to occur early in the AM, US time just to annoy the bejeezus out of the early risers.

We are, however, having issues with the load balancers in the early morning hours for some reason. It's an ongoing thing. Just when we think we have it licked, we find that it isn't.

ECF isn't just "one server". It's a collection of servers that are all tied in with each other. Getting them all to talk to each other without affecting site performance is something we try to achieve, but sometimes issues crop up.
