I'm referring to A deck similar to the Wasp or Hadalay rda :) designed for a "Big Clapton Coil"
Like This one, IMO would be a nice addition to the Aromamizer family :)

That might work, but it'd be a tighter fit & you'd not be able to turn the deck like when you don't line up the tabs.

Nice work Willy :) Looks like it was a lot of work to get a 75 in there?
I like your magnets, I still use the screws. I mite have to look into the magnet mod :)
I took the easy way out & used the Small screen 60 :) I have a pretty slick 3D printed Chip/Screen holder in mine, Made it easy! :)

I've got two of those hana clones I put 75's in, the black one the board fit, tight but fit. The other one, the lower corners needed to be cut back for the bottom corners of the board to clear, it's didn't need much, I got away with using an end mill in my drill press. If I had the 60's first, that's what I would have used too, in fact I probably wouldn't have gotten the 75's, these 60's work well.

Oh and the magnets, they come loose, I have to keep gluing them back on. Some day I'll try some other epoxy's, JB Weld won't hold permanently, I even tried scuffing the magnets with sandpaper, didn't help. Strange, JB has never failed me before but it doesn't work with these magnets for some reason.

Got an email from Harbor Freight, I didn't know they have this program, very cool.

The Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence
recognizes outstanding skilled trades programs at public high schools in the United States.

We define an “excellent” program as one led by a teacher who clearly loves the subject matter and is both highly knowledgeabale and skilled; whose curriculum is matched to a relevant career pathway and future work choices; is designed to flow seamlessly into next-step options, whether to employment or college; encourages exploration and experimentation among students in a safe environment; and connects students to new relationships and worlds outside the classroom.

We will award three first-place prizes of $100,000, with $70,000 going to the high school skilled trades program and $30,000 to the individual skilled trades teacher or teachers behind the winning program. Seven second-place winners will each be awarded $30,000, with $20,000 to the high school program and $10,000 to the teacher or teacher team.

But it’s not just these 10 prizewinners who will walk away with something of value. Every teacher who applies for the prize will get access to powerful ideas and practices, shared through a series of expert-led learning modules available free and online, to help them be even more effective in the classroom. Our goal, like theirs, is to help students flourish.

And there are other winners—your community. By celebrating the best in skilled trades education, we intend to show that there are many ways to use your head (and your hands), and many promising paths to success in life in addition to attending a four-year college.

REGISTER NOW! The rest of the application goes live on Monday, June 19, 2017.

If you have any questions, please contact Robin Kramer at rkramer@harborfreight.com

I just got my first one up & running, first impressions are 2 giant thumbs up :)
I could tell it was a big job to get the 75's in there :)

Yeah I'm very impressed with the 60, Evolv did a great job with this one! Putting the 75 in wasn't all that bad, the usb fell right in place and didn't have to fuss with the on board switches, the worse part was connecting the screen to the board. I use the 3M double sided tape used to glue iphone screens to hold screens in my mods so first I have to install the screen in the mod, then attach it to the board with the board inside the mod and it's on the underside. It's like threading a needle in the dark, getting the bends in the ribbon just right first was tricky.

The Pharaoh hit's like a Train with the "Big Clapton Coil" I will agree :)
What does TC undetectable mean? Did you make the Clapton your self?
I bought some Claptons claiming to be SS but wouldn't work in TC, they weren't really SS :(
I make my own Ti Claptons now & have no issue with TC :)

Single core or fused? Wrapped with Ti too?

Uhhh, I dunno...it's GeekVape SS Twisted Clapton Wire. I even dry burned on wattage mode like you're s'posta.

But I'm not losing any sleep over it. *shrug* :)

Whoa. That's cool, what did you use for the switches? Did you remove some material for the screen?

Yes I filed the screen opening with small needle files, making it longer, that was back when I first modded it and put a DNA 40 board in it. I made a template by tracing the outline onto a piece of thin plastic, then taped it to the case in the position I needed to file so I had lines to follow. The up and down switches are the same tact switches that it came with, the fire switch is a little larger, one I found at the local electronic shop. I also removed the crappy 510, drilled and tapped it for one of the black VariTube version one 510's, also drilled and tapped a small hole next to the 510 hole for a ground screw so I had a good solid ground. A lot of fooling around but I like to tinker and the challenge. Here's a couple pics from when modding for the 40 board.

As promised, a follow up to the wick test. The first test was mainly to show how poor silica is compared to modern materials. The context being that poor silica performance might have significantly contributed to why Dr Kurt's Gen 2 results were so bad.

On this test I took the 4 best from the first round and matched them head to head.

Test Conditions:
  • 50/50 PG/VG mix
  • each wick trimmed to about 1.5 inches
  • 0.11g of fiber each
  • Coil (spring) was 3mm ID
  • All set in a rig that kept them suspended without touching the walls.
Samples from left to right are:
  1. VCC Vapers Choice
  2. Rayon
  3. Native Wicks Platinum Blend
  4. Koh Gen Do organic cotton pads (outer skins removed)

Results:
  • Initial Capillary
    1. Rayon
    2. Koh Gen Do
    3. Native Wicks (actually a very close 2nd IMHO)
    4. VCC Vapers Choice

  • Capacity: (defined as g of fluid held in the wick after 1 hour))
    1. KGD - 3.22g
    2. Native Wicks - 2.69g
    3. VCC Vapers Choice - 2.13g
    4. Rayon - 1.72g
Overall winner, you choose, by capacity it is KGD, by initial capillary it is rayon. By these two factors weighted together I would say KGD is the more efficient performing choice.

I am sticking with my rayon. Other factors like flavor, longevity, and scorch temp still make this my fave.

Great minds think alike. I did something very similar for the V1 Rayon thread. I didn't confine the wicks to coils (thus keeping the fibers close together), but knew after I did it that I should have. The surprising thing to me was the cotton yarn wicks (you know, the Walmart chemical free cotton stuff) transported very well for a loose wick, better than all the rest that I had. Of course, the Rayonauts poo-poo'd the results, and admittedly they were invalid since the wicks weren't properly confined. I wonder how the rayon would do if you thinned the tails down properly.
Having used both KGD and Rayon, I completely agree with your judgment on the best wick. Whether the cotton holds more juice or not, the rayon I use (Sally's) keeps up with every coil configuration I've ever built, even while chain vaping, and delivers the flavor far better.

Alas, I have been informed that my narrative was lacking, I need background music. That will be corrected in the next vid I do, if I ever do. I already have a palylist in mind:

If youve never heard it, you owe it to yourself to listen at least once.......

Dr. Hook! We use to toke up and play that record over and over singing along and laughing like hell. I haven't heard that in many, many years. Thanks for posting it Mike, you made my day!
