Willie, it's far better to vent, rant, rave, here where you can get some commiseration and not break anything. No apology needed.

My weather station stopped reporting rainfall amounts with the last rain we had. That's usually an indication of bugs, the six legged variety, inside the housing. Since it was time for a fresh set of batteries in it anyway, I cleaned it out today. Keep in mind this thing sits on top of an eight foot pole bolted to a framing member on a shed about 100 feet from the house.

First, there was a spider living in the release tab for the battery door. When I took the cover off the housing of the main body it was very obvious why the rain gauge stopped working. It's, basically, a teeter-totter style balance scale where each "seat" holds 1/100th of an inch of water and tilts back and forth to empty itself, counting the tilts as it goes. There was a really heavy spider web, dense, right at the pivot point on one side so I stuck a screwdriver in there. Out popped a brown recluse spider. He has joined his ancestors without incident, but I have to wonder -
A) how the heck did he get up there in the first place.
B) what the heck was he eating to stay alive.
He did have a dry spot with a good supply of drinking water, but where'd the food come from?

My sincere apologizes to everyone for my behavior, it was way out of line and I'm ashamed of myself. Just woke up from crashing, I've pushed myself way too hard lately, relied on the steroids to get me through the work and they did but the side effect is one I hate, they mess with my emotions. I've been exhausted with little sleep the last few weeks but pushed on to get things done while I still could. I had been up all last night working outside till 3 AM, mad at the world. My rants were the result and I apologize for ever bringing them here, I crossed a line. I'm sorry.
no reason to apologize - as awsum said much better you get it off your chest here ;)

Brown Recluses make very thin irregular webs Awsum, so thin (20x thinner) than most other spiders that they can be difficult to see. Their webs are very sparse and irregular "cob style" instead of funnel or symmetrically patterned. Interestingly, their web strands are flat instead of round like any other spider web and can stretch really far before breaking. They also have 6 eyes instead of eight. There are other brown spiders which closely resemble the Brown Recluse, even ones with a fiddle shape on their backs so they are often misidentified.
When I first moved here and opened an old shed that came with the place there were at least 300 BRs on the walls and ceiling. Creeped me out!

Hey guys & gals,
I got a problem with my dna 75 mod. When I plug it into the computer it is not recognized. It charges, but the computer doesn't see it.
Would this happen if I accidentally clicked the forget this mod, button instead of the disconnect button. Could have happened.
But if that is what happened, it still seems the computer itself would see it.
Haven't tried the laptop yet. I'll give that a shot later.

I actually don't know if ther is a button to forget mod. I'm new to regulated. When I play with escribe, trying to figure out temp control, it's usually when I can't sleep, so not really at my most alert.
I am using the same cord that I was using before.
Haven't restarted. I'll try that first. I just plugged it in this morning, because I wanted to set my 430 tcr to .0023, I think. The suggested setting from escribe doesn't give me any vapor to speak of. Been using it in wattage mode.

The "stock" TCR for SS seems to be tuned for 316L. You can download a curve, rather than just setting a general TCR, from Steam Engine for SS430. I'm using that one with good success on unkamen SS430.

As far as forgetting the mod, that's a new one on me. The PC/craptop should "see" the USB connection occur and at least give you the audio signal that a USB device has been connected. If you're not getting that, try another cable. If that doesn't work I'd suggest opening a ticket with Evolv.

Well, maybe it wasn't a BRS then. I'm not an expert with bugs but it did have that little design on the back and was about the size of a dime, maybe a little smaller. It didn't have a web, per se, it was more like a cocoon than a web, thick and dense but made of a fine silk. The one in the battery cover latch was weird, translucent green and it seemed to have a grub worm for a pet as well.

Must be SS430 from Crazywire perhaps.
The suggested TCR for most all other SS430 is .00138

Hey, we have weird bugs here in the Great Nanny State.

Oh yeah, if its SS430 from Crazy Wire, good luck. I ended up setting a TCR of around .00197 or so to get it to work reasonably well. That didn't make me feel like I really "knew" the coil temperature so I gave unkamen a try and it works fine with the Steam Engine .csv.

Got mine from the vape mesh company.
Anyway, I got it working again. It was the wire. One of the kids must have taken the wire I had on the computer before.
It is working, but all the custom theme options from Catfish are gone. It runs off of a 20700, I'm wondering if I should have him send me the settings. I think I recall him saying that he had to change the programming for that battery.

To download the .csv, go to Wire wizard | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators Select the wire type of SS430. In the "Temperature control results" box click on DNA200 and the curve, as a csv will appear. Then, select download and you're set. Keep in mind Steam Engine doesn't support MS products so you'll need Chrome or FireFox to be able to download. If you don't have them, you can copy the actual data and paste it into an editor. Just save it as a .csv file.

Next, in Escribe with the device connected, go to the materials tab. Below the list of available material click on the second icon, "Import Material" and import the saved .csv. Then transfer that to the device and create/change a profile to it.

If you got your wire from the Vape Mesh Company that .csv won't work very well. Like I said, a TCR somewhere around .0020 worked for me with their wire (Crazy Wire), but I am far more comfortable with a .csv with multiple points rather than a straight line reference. That's just me and YMMV.
