Sitting down, facing forward.
Ever notice how ALL the mods seem to go empty at the same time? I keep three on the end table next to the couch where I sit and have one I carry around while in the house. All four went empty after dinner. I just filled two Aromamizers, a Fogger and a Merlin (thanks Mike). Well, at least I'm good for another day or two. In the mean time, the Mrs. is filling up three, too. Glad I DIY our liquids.

My only real complaint with the Merlin is the drip tip. Why is it all the drip tips today make it look like you've got the top half of the tank in your mouth? What ever happened to moderate length drip tips? The bore is good, but the length is kind of short for my tastes and it seems to be welded into the top cap.

For Willy:

That looks good right now but I'd be up all night. Just woke up, zonked out in my office chair after my last post, my neck is stiff.... Had a strange dream about the wife and I dancing at the Stones concert many years ago, when I woke up there's a Stones documentary on TCM playing on TV LoL. We got center stage seats just rows from the stage not once but twice all by pure luck, those were the good days, great concerts!

OK, got about hour on the merlin, diggin it so far. I used my usual nickle coil, five spaced wraps, about 2.5mm ID coming in at .05 ohms running around 420F. Using rayon, as usual I split the tail in half and cut the top half off. Not sure how wick it up I left the tails about twice the length to reach the bottom of the well, to tuck into the wells here's what I did (I use large sewing needles to work the tails in place), I took one needle, from the back outside of the post I slid one needle under the tail then used another needle to fold the tail in and under the first needle making a U loop leaving the cut end resting on top of the air hole. Removed the needle the lightly pushed the U shape fold down into the well just covering the hole. Think I'll have to redo the tails though, no leaking at all but peaking at the coil down through the drip tip the coil isn't dry but it isn't quite as wet as I like to see, I do use thick juice about 80-86% VG, flavor isn't quite there either but there is still some break in to go so it may take some time to come in.

Yeah, I think I'm going to like these merlin's, just got to figure out a build that works for me. A little tight on the draw but not something that's a deal breaker, I'll get use to it. Thanks Steamer for all your experimenting, I would have never tried one of these without you (and the feedback from everyone else).

The BIG bonus is, with this .05 ohm build I'm able to use these on the ZNA 60's!!! The 60's didn't like the dual coil .03 build in the mizer's, being able to use those ZNA's without them fighting me, this is very cool!! :thumb: The ZNA with a merlin is going to be put to use tomorrow morning while I'm working outside, finally a pocket friendly, good vaping setup!!!

I use the cotton sheets :) It's just so easy to make consistent sized wicks :)

I was gonna say, if it was rayon, thin them tails! I open the merlin up and thinned the tails so the cut ends just cover holes, was easier to work with them when they were wet, now she's really cranking! Big vapor, I can see the coil is staying nice and wet and I'm getting the good size bubbles as the juice feeds. I should have known better, with rayon you just can't have stuffed fat tails, it just won't feed just unless thinned and thinned more then you would think.

I see eLeaf now has a triple, 18650, 300W, square, box mod. Hold on to your seat, 500 watts can't be that far away.

Willie, I use these, https://www.amazon.com/Vetus-Safe-F...qid=1506077105&sr=8-2&keywords=vetus+tweezers for wicking with rayon. The fine tps work well for both "fluffing" and "nit picking" to thin. Stuffing the wick into an Aromamizer or Merlin is easy with them because they're so fine tipped. Plus, they work well for splinter removal as well, no needle needed, just wipe well with IPA before doing that

I have been just using an old fashioned pocket hair comb to thin my tails. I just comb the tail out until looks thin enough, a few fibers break off at randomized lengths with each stroke of the comb, and then trim the ends even. I use the curved needle nose tweezers to tuck it in.
