Any recommendations on a decent, sub $100 burr grinder for my Bodum, or does such a thing even exist? The Baratza's are a little too much here in Canada.

Opinions on a manual one? Are the ceramic blades any good or is steel a must?

Thanks!

For the sub $100 category I have had two of these over the years. I love their "style".
Bodum grinder - white, $75 but other colors are more expensive. Strange, they must charge more for popularity.

They are good for 2-3 years, nice sharp burrs, and work well, but there is a plastic retainer ring that holds in one of the burrs, and it wears out. Once it wears out you're screwed as that part isnt sold anywhere. But there is a file available on Thingverse so you can 3D print one. Otherwise consider it a "good" disposable.

Manual ones are great for power outages and camping, I have two, waaaaay too much work for the daily morning fog though so I wouldnt get one except as a backup.

Ceramic burrs work just as good as steel, until you damage them and they are more easily damaged. It doesnt happen often, but every once in a while a small rock will get overlooked and be mixed with the beans. A steel one can take it better than ceramic. Ceramic is good for that backup manual grinder though.

Maybe Mike will chime in with some good advise, I bought several bargin grinders & none held up :( Do your self a favour & get this one Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder - Creative Coffee looks like it's 10% off today & free shipping :)
Thanks Steamer!
I'd love to get the Baratza but it would be over $200 landed, a little more than i was looking to spend. Great advice, I realize that you get what you pay for and it only works out to a few pennies a cup in the long run, but just not feasible at the moment. ;)

This appears to be what I'm looking for, great info on the manual grinders and ceramic burrs as well. I shall submit my request to she who must be obeyed and go from there. ;) :D

This looks like something to clean atomizer parts in but I figure it has some other purpose. I even looked on the bottom to see if it had Classy's name on it.
Pics didn't show nor can I edit it. (changed host) I acquired this from my work last night.

Showing my skewed sense of humor.

I found this hilarious - Bug-A-Salt: The Original Salt Gun

Watch the video, it's only about two minutes, if that long.

Wax bullets are fun too! Pour wax onto a cookie sheet about 1/2 thick, while it cools load a new primer into a .38SPL case (or caliber of your choosing), push the case mouth into the harden wax, twist and you have a loaded wax round. :)

ETA: Can you get the bug-a-salt with a bump stock?

Could mull some cider in that too! Reminds me, I've got to swing by the cider mill and pick up some cider and more mulling spices, can't have thanksgiving without my mulled cider to go along with the after dinner pie's! I like to add some grated orange peel and a few slices to the pot, gives it a nice kick.
