Decent deal, even for the router by itself but the modem it comes with is only docsis 3.0 and it looks like there's been 3 upgrades since that model # (cm600, cm700, cm1000), really it depends if spectrum has plans to upgrade their services... They told me that mine will be in the next year or so, which is why I got a 3.1 vs 3.0... willie do you know?

Also it's worth mentioning that after upgrading to the cm1000 I am getting 300+ extra mbps than what I pay for. No idea why but it's been like that since I bought it.

There's two, one does not work, did you search "ec forum"

No I don't know, not a clue. My head is splitting, I've spent hours today searching for what's out there to get the wife the channels she wants without getting any through streaming. Figuring in TV with a DVR and boxes for the other TV's, phone and internet (at 25mbs min) the best I have come up with so far will only save us $25 a month and that's without knowing what installation and activation fees might be. I figured it by keeping the phone, internet and TV separate and also bundled, it all washes out about the same. I'm sure there will be times when promotions might come along and I may be able to snag a better deal but right now in my area with what we can get that's the best I can find. I'm ready to toss in the towel and keep Spectrum, no wonder the gal at Spectrum said "good luck finding what your looking for at a better deal."

If the wife would let me go with streaming and an antenna I know I could save a lot, but she won't have any part of fudging through the process to jump from one to the other so it is what it is.

best not to force the issue then unless you're prepared to be her channel/input changer ;) i know dh here is hopeless when it comes to stuff like that.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I hit "like" but we need a "commiserate" button Willie. I tried Roku and Sling, neither had the channels we wanted. I have no problems putting up an antenna and using steaming services, just can't get what I want on them. I don't want to get into the "download" box and fool with all that crap, just not worth the effort, at least not yet. But between MS deciding Winderz is a "service" and ever escalating costs for TV, which is basically worthless, and internet the technology game is going to lose this player sooner or later.

awsum, i got the dish flex pack for dh - i think all he needs tv for is to provide background noise so he can nap ;) - i added the news pack and that combo seems to suit him ;). i couldn't care less since i don't watch tv. anyhow, this brought the monthly rate down substantially.

Did you look at Playstation or Sling? just leave the app up & it functions exactly like your cable box. It's got the same tv schedule w/ channel lineup & the dvr (which is cloud based so your recordings are everywhere). & since it's only ~$25/mo you could save some money to get something better for yourself, even if she's not going to use it.

Imo the Netflix type stuff is where it's at I don't really have time for the clunky TV schedule thing but different strokes.

I was just thinking of cutting some stuff out too bc I've got too much stuff I don't use, like HBO now/hulu/showtime etc... I think my gf may use them sometimes but tbh all I've used for months is Netflix & Amazon Prime, & even those not so much. I have the TV on as background noise & when I sleep bc of my tinnitus but I'd say the amount of TV I actually sit down & watch per day is around 30 mins. I was thinking I could play movies off my plex server for the same effect.

I'm convinced at some point streaming will have a channel menu like you see on cable and it will be a lot easier to use. Streaming is gaining more and more channels, content and competition. I guess I'll just have to wait, it is what it is. I have accept I can only change certain things, not get to frustrated at those I can't and when need be, get knocked in the head hard enough so I'll know the difference. Some days it's a challenge and my head hurts.....

No I haven't, I assumed it was like using a Ruko, I'll check it out. Selling it to the wife is another story. Example, I told her we could get DSL, same mbs, through our phone company at a better price, she instantly said no, she has it in her head it's dial up and won't even listen to an explanation or look up what DSL is on the net, it's just NO! What'ya gonna do?

even geothermals pretty much relied on auxiliary heat during that cold spell :(
Ouch! A buddy of mine in SE PA put one in his house and is pleased as punch with it. He's got a two-stage and restricts it to stage one except in the absolute coldest weather. However, his installation was a fiasco. The first well-drillers got their drill-rig stuck in one of the holes and had to call in another outfit with a bigger rig to get it un-stuck. o_O

i doubt scott would travel that far but he's pretty well informed as to who's doing what in va. he might be able to recommend somebody in your neck of the woods. ;)

Have a look at PlayStation Vue. When I was cutting the Directv cord after too many years I tried all the streaming services via their free trial and had predetermined criteria (channels, DVR, menu format etc). I really liked Directv Now but no DVR. The one I chose was PlayStation Vue, it checked all the boxes.

Well damn, lol. I get it though my gf is really stubborn. Drives me insane sometimes, we just bought one of those new purple beds & it doesn't use our old box spring or frame, so so we have to get that stuff out/new bed in, new frame hasn't arrived yet, so we spent about an hour arguing the best way to move it into the bedroom & onto the peice of rug that it's gonna be on for a month... in the end she won't do it my way until she does it her stupid way and see's it not work. idk why I even fight it bc it's the same every time... Then, after it's all over with and I never want to speak of it again, I get to hear a 30 minute explanation on her point of view and how I don't "explain things right" [emoji52]

But no, the Playstation or Sling, they are set up exactically like cable, if you wanted you could just tell her it was satellite & she'd never know the difference [emoji23] so if you're already switching to a different service (directv) you might as well give that a try first, it'll run on any streaming device so you don't have to rent boxes, & comes with a cloud based dvr. You just leave that open on whatever it's on & viola, $25 cable substitute.

i opted for the loop not the well; at the time the driveway was being relocated so 800ft of ditching was no problem. scott is about 40 minutes away from me but the company that did the digging came out of richmond ~ 110 miles
