(((willy))) it'll get fixed one day ;)

Not today and not tomorrow, I have Mama set so she's happy and I'm thankful for that much. I need to just let my part of it with the computer go for a while. Not good for me to get that frustrated and angry, life's too short.

I just came in from the shop, I went out, turned the heaters and stereo on and found stuff to do. Always something to do out there, I'm feeling much better, relaxed. :)

No I don't remember the mileage on that Pathfinder, it was two years old, still under drivetrain warrenty, must have had at least 35K. The noises it was making and one look at the damage done under the valve cover told me all I needed to know, it was toast.

We should start a thread to post stuff we "tech's" have seen, really. Give me a day or two, when I'm feeling better I'll start one and see if some others will join in, gonna wear out our welcome here if we keep it up LoL. I'd enjoy swapping story's with more of us who twisted wrenches, we've all seen some real head shakers and have funny stories.

BTW, Personally I don't care for fancy labels, I'm a simple man (I'll say it first, I'm "simple" in more ways then one [emoji23]). Being called a tech instead of another label, mechanic, grease monkey, I relied on my work to define me, not a label. Sometimes I'll call myself a tech but usually I refered to myself as a mechanic, but I mean no offense to those who prefer to being called techs.
I never really thought about it much, it's just what the position is called, most times at a dealership it's "tech" while other places it's mechanic... but at the dealers you only get that job after completing 8 of ase's, a vehicle-specific training program & training under someone else... but it's all just symantics really, we used it to differentiate between the more & less specialized guys.

On my current job the people I work for also call me a tech lol, so I just see it as it a job title.

Amen brother! Can't wait for warm weather and spend time outside in the real world!

I'm binging on The Soprano's on Amazon Prime Video, screw you spectrum. [emoji14] Really loving Prime video, better then Netflix and the two day free shipping on stuff like that HDMI switcher, for me Prime is a bargain! Looking forward to checking out more of what's out there through streaming, I see there's a ton of stuff and some free. At least Mama's happy, she can do her thing with spectrum and I'll do mine. Everabuda hoopy :D

Check out a show called "fortitude" on there next. It's about some freaky stuff going on in the northernmost town in the world. I haven't actually watched it but I put it on in the background all the time, & my gf loves it. She says it's slow to get into but really good.

Also, pcie TV tuners I know have a bad track record w/ cable boxes. I think they make now a pcie digital cable tuner but it's not something I know very much about. I had one a long time ago when you could get video cards w/ tuner built in. It was not pcie, agp if I remember correctly.

Welp, I drew some attention in the neighbor hood at midnight last night. Lot of snow and blowing all day yesterday and into early hour. Mama was coming home from her trip around 12:30 AM so I watited until 6 PM last night to blow out the drive thinking that would get rid of enough so what came after would be passable when she drove in. I went out at midnight and walked the driveway, it had blown back in so I fired up the John Deere, flipped the lights on and cleaned out just enough to let her in and did it as quickly as I could. But it didn't take long and neighbors lights were coming on, I saw them peeking out the windows to see what the hell I was doing, even a passing Sheriff in one of the secret squirrel blacked out van's they have stopped just up the road to watch LoL. I was wondering, is he calling in to see if the village has a noise ordinance after dark? We don't..... ;)

Snow and winds finally stopped, I'll have to go out and clean it out again, at least it's going to be clear today.

Have I mentioned I hate winter?

(And the tv signal and internet still continues to drop in and out )

Sitting down, facing forward.
We only got a dusting out of this one, Willie, and that evaporated during the day yesterday. It has been a little on the cold side and the wind just won't give it up. Our front yard looks like a disaster area with all the limbs and twigs that have come down. The limbs can be picked up and shredded/chipped, but all those small ones need a rake. I was hoping I wouldn't have to rake the whole thing this spring, but that seems to have been a vain hope.

I hear ya, same with my yard. I wish the kids around here would be willing to do some yard work like raking for pay but even my grand kids aren't interested, they get about anything they want so why work for money? I warned my daughter they aren't learning the value of money and what it's like to work for little pay in your early years. I told her, get use to shelling out money, if you think it will stop when they are old enough to leave home your kidding yourself.

Anywho, just went out and cleaned up what was left, today I'm happy the weather reports are wrong, it was supposed to just break freezing for a few hours mid-day but's it's sunny and already 40 F

I offered my 2 girls (10 & 12) $1 for every 2 pieces of garbage they each picked up yesterday ... minus $1 for each item I found when they were done. Little did I know the older one would pick up butts in the neighbor's front yard. 40 items each later, and I found only 3 super tiny ones, they got $20 each. Raking (free) starts next week.

I had a friend that used to make his son pull weeds, two garbage bags a day on a small lot. He never figured out how there could be two bags, every day, but the number of weeds never seemed to drop. His son was filling two bags with what the neighbors had pulled.

I have this memory from when I was a kid, my neighbor offered me $100 to "weed" his backyard, he said, "you'll probably need a friend" I was like, naaah but after I saw this freaking jungle, I got a little worried about what I had signed myself up for & I offered my buddy 40 (lol) to help.

After about 3 hours and not even making a dent, my buddy just gave up & left me there. I looked around and decided it would probably take me a week of 8hr days to clear it, so I went home & got our stuff, ran it over with a lawnmower, weed whacked it, then sprayed the whole thing with weed killer & threw 6 bags of mulch that I found in his shed on top of the bricked in areas. Took me literally all day & it ended up devoid of all life but I thought it looked at least $100 good.

Anyways when the guy got back, he was super ...... saying he paid me to weed it, there was a garden under there (I didn't see anything but weeds), which I told him was still there just minus a jungle of plants. He wasn't going to pay me at all until my step-dad overhead him screaming at me & got himself involved. Tbh, to this day I still don't understand what the problem was.

Batchelor X Another good choice, if your looking for a short single coil tank with descent capacity. 5 mill with included Bubble Glass. A lot like the Kylin Mini, except this one is 25mm diameter has only bottom Air flow, the wicking channels are huge! (easy to wick). it has a GTA styled Deck, no leaking or JFC. IMO these "GTA Styled" atty's are the evolution of the atty. For a long time now a JFC atty was best for no leaking or chamber flooding upon refilling. The GTA style has changed all that, the elimination of the JFC has made a simpler atty with less part, that does not leak or flood, when refilled.
The Batchelor X is at FT $22.85 Authentic EHpro Bachelor X RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 3.5ml/5ml / stainless steel + glass / 25.2mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping down to $20 with code "SHAMROCK" for the next 2 days :)

kiba, Here's a shop story for ya, came to me little while ago while on my way home when this song came on the radio. When I worked in a Honda dealer in 89 (best days of my life as a mech) we had a great bunch of guys, most of us were in the same age bracket, we worked hard and played hard together, both on and off the job. Except for a couple we were all "A" "Techs" ;) and because of that we got away with a lot of hell raising, shooting bottle rockets are each other across the shop, water balloon fights, just good old hell raising. Man I could tell you some stories. :) Anyways, three of us had stereos on our tool boxes, we always played the same rock station, when this song came on everyone would crank it up and we would all whistle and sing along, I'm sure they could hear us out on the sales floor, but we were never once told to knock it off.

HQ sound in this one, put in your ear buds and crank it up and sing along with me!

Yeah I actually do like patience, even though I was more of a Metallica fan, actually I used to be in the sound/studio industry on my way to trying to find another career, & I have this one good buddy of many years, who was a roadie for that one tour, with guns&roses/metallica, where a bunch of riots got started & axl rose refused to come out a few times, was acting like a primadonna etc... he's always telling that story, he has this theory basically axl rose kind of lost a lot of respect with his fans for that one & handed over much if their fans to metallica which he says is what caused their downfall.

It's also the tour (I think) where james hetfeild set himself on fire.
