Speaking of "sharing user information", now it appears that WasteBook will be allowing, in the future, an "opt out" selection regarding personal data. That will come at a cost, to the user, of course. Their business model is based on selling user information so if users opt out that's lost revenue. Anyone who was naive enough to think they weren't selling that information, online habits and anything else they could sniff out, is in for a real shock. I remember, a few years after they started, a big discussion among "financial experts" about how WasteBook could monetize itself and show a profit. The only thing they have that has any monetary/commercial value is user information. Kind of a no brainer on how to make money with it.
Yep! One of the reasons I stay the heck away from Farcebook is because I don't wish to be Zuckerberg's product.

I'v tried the unflavoured, not the biggest fan of it. I could get used to it, if I had to.

I make over 30 different recipes I have found or made my self over the years.
Flavouring for me is kind of important, I find the more I like the flavour, the more I will hit that atty/BF'er :) TBH I spend more on flavouring than any other DIY supply :)

Over the years I learned all flavouring is not created equal :( If I find the flavouring is quickly gunking up my coils, I will not use it any more!

As my DIY'ing has progressed over the years, I find my self using Flavour Art more & more, their flavouring is clean & relatively small percentages make a nice "Clean" juice :)

I still use the Hawk Sauce from MBV @ 10%, I like it! & it keeps my coil relatively clean for a long time. I see MBV has it back as a "Flavour Shot", not in stock last few times I checked :(
I hope it come back in stock, it's one of those flavours I will never get boarded with :)

Sitting down, facing forward.
I'd love to see a 2K tax bill, Willie.

I keep all my cameras, none of which are WiFi, restricted from the internet through the router, MAC addresses blocked from outside access. As my camera count has increased I need to upgrade the switch to handle the PoE load. Next one will be a Layer2 device with a VPN for the cameras only.

I vape unflavored about 2/3 of the time -- it's my "all day vape" in a mod/atty that's never had a trace of any flavoring in it. However, there are two flavors in my daily rotation. One that I call "Apple Pie" is what I consistently start the day with. Another (a blackberry & blood orange mix) gets some hits here and there. Both of them get dripped into an atty from the top while the squonk bottle underneath gets refilled with unflavored, and a 30ml bottle of flavored juice lasts me months...

I wonder why it is though, I mean drinks/food don't lose their flavor, & around Thanksgiving I end up having turkey everything for a month etc. why do these flavors fade so quickly?

If you want to be REALLY secure, & have them on a router that's connected to the internet vs an isolated secondary network on separate switch, I'd set up in the future with the separate lan. It may not be easy to do but if it's on the same router(s) as your internet i can get to it.

I have mine on a separate switch, only it is part of the main lan bc I need to be able to access them from the internet, so I can be aware if someone is trying to get into my house... but I keep them behind a VPN & each device on that switch behind a 256 bit firewall. But then again I'm weird & I like it when someone tries to hack me so idc as much.

Its not NSA style to do a DDOS attack, unless maybe against an enemy.
They are all about getting our data, any way they can, not so much about preventing us from using the net.

The other thing is there's no reason for it, ddos isn't really an effective tool for doing anything besides being annoying, its only done by trolls & modern servers are so powerful they can pretty much handle it a lot of the times.

Besides, you don't ddos when you can just brute force your way in.

I already have a normal switch handling everything, at the moment. When I put in the new one it will be in addition to the existing one and be, basically, a separate LAN just for the cameras. I'll probably throw a second NIC into the machine just for that porpoise to keep the cameras as totally isolated as possible.

and once more i'm in need of help in the tech sector ;)
now that the generator is in place i'd like to let go of the landline, and because of att's very decent lte coverage i'm looking at the cellular home phone and internet package. i convinced my neighbor to give this a try because his data requirements are way below the 50 gigs allowance and he is very satisfied! call quality is excellent and he has no regrets. unfortunately, for me there's a problem :( it seems my alarm system depends on a landline. i did some research but i'm at a loss when it comes to add-on modules and cell dialers.

Can't help with that one, Tibs. I've been out of the alarm business for too long to know what the current cell dialing options are.
:( but no worries i'll muddle through somehow ;)

and talking about cellular - i came across redpocket.com which might be of interest to some in here. they are resellers of att, vz, t-mobile and sprint. you bring your own phone and they send you the sim of your choice ;) i opted for the 500 minutes/500 texts for 10 bucks a month because red pocket lets you call 72 countries using regular minutes. naturally, my flip phone would not have been suitable it doesn't even have a sim  but i ended up with a hand-me-down from my boy ;) so now i'm trying to navigate an iphone 6s  i won't give up my flip phone though at least not yet ;)
