only one thing stands out - mike got married!
Oh noez, Mike why??? jk congrats of course. My gf and I have talked about my fear of marriage many times & although in the past she's said she doesn't want to, lately she's started to change her mind about it which is scary. I suppose if she really really wanted to that I would consider it, but tbh idk what will happen.
My sister literally just got married & I had to spend pretty much the entire time constantly answering the question why I'm not/don't want to (to the point my brother said he felt bad for me.. lol, everyone asked me while leaving her alone)... All I have is my own personal observations where I just grew up in a situation where to me, marriage, if it does not work out seemed incredibly scary for a guy. The situation with my dad/mom, where he had to
buy back half of a house that was his free & clear as well as pay alimony and child support around $2k/mo. I think around the age of 10-12 I had to go into court with him to request for them to give him custody so we could put an end to the child support which was literally breaking him every month bc of paying for my necessities (shoes, clothes, school stuff etc) in addition to the child support while my mom was trying to increase it after her alimony ended... I do believe my first step-dad is finally done paying child support since my bro and sister are both out of college, but I think that since they were married 10yrs he has to pay her alimony for the rest of his life as well as she gets a peice of his retirement.
So, yeah, there's that. I do love my gf though so I think I would probably do it for her despite my fears, but I would have to have a pre-nup which after looking into it, done properly where it would actually hold up in court would cost around $10k I think, & tbh rn I can think of better uses for that money. The other thing is I hear scary stuff from friends all the time, I have one freind who's paying child support for a child that's actually not his according to
dna tests. personally I do love kids but tbh I got my fill of crying babies growing up.
