Wow really dwcraig1? Oh that would be easy to check. Oh I am looking at it and it does look very short. Calibers says 4mm. Wow, that is the shortest 510 I ever seen. Thanks for the heads up. ;)
Atomizer Analyzer in EScribe will assist in determining if it's being a problem.

A couple of days ago I was going to make a shim (washer) from an aluminum pie pan for material but didn't get around to it.
I thought about a wire ring instead, I guess that would be a bunch easier.

I use some Kanthal, wrap it around a needle about one and a half wraps, slide if off and snip straight through the loop, the ends fall away leaving a nice ring of wire. Make it just a little smaller then you think you'll need and you can open the ring to slide over then threads, better then being too big to fit. Different size wire makes thinner or thicker washers, a little trail and error will zero you in on what works best for the atty and 510 your working with. Make it bottom out the 510 too much and over time it can mess up the 510, I made that mistake already making them real tight and wallowed out the threads on a 510 in one of the zbbmod ebay kits. But tighter, without over doing it makes for a less ohms wandering for sure when they fall that low. My next issue was the atty's unscrewing just a tiny bit from handling, in and out of pocket, bumping and falling over, that's when I started snugging the atty's down, now I can rebuild, attach, set the temp and forget it until it's time to rebuild again, no more bumping temps up and down. If my builds were higher ohms I doubt I'd have to go to those extremes to stop the wandering, doubt it would change the temps that much.

I just like nickle, it works for me, I used it from day one once going to TC. Well I started with the soft, Tempered was a real blessing when it came along, I'm happy and comfortable using it.

... my BB is coming from that store (Albert's) with clear panels
I think he had black authentics. Oooh and Stainless button and actuator inner panels. Now showing Out of Stock cuz they were shorting on the button side. Nothing a little Kapton tape won't fix. If you need some tape I can send you some. Oh, oh, oh he's got some Tweakings Dampless plugs for $10. Ultem looking and don't appear to be 3D printed. Those cut down on leaks/condensation.

Just googling to see what those are, don't know anything about these but this place is listing some other stuff too. TweaKings - "Billet Box Dampless Plug, Regular"

ETA: Also just found some really great pics of those plugs here. Tweaking Dampless Plug for the BB

SlickWilly The tank in a BB is called a boro. It's like a mini china cabinet on 4 legs. That plug sits up in and around the legs essentially making it look solid, except for the opening in the middle. The coil (bridge) extends through the bottom of the cabinet and hits the positive pin on the BB. Both Albert and that Vapes are about half an hour from me.

I'll give the SXK bridge a run and see how it makes out, there will be a few other bridges brought in for sure.

3F has the Exocet instock also, just search "bb" it will bring up a few accessories :) I know Canadian shops kinda suck with the shipping & age verification B.S.!

Mad Vapes used to sell these 510 circuit board spacers back in the day, very popular with the Kayfun Lite crowd.
Not listed on the site anymore but they were the perfect fix for a short 510.

I'm all for a new updated atty to mod connection, the screw 510 has outlived what it should have as far as I'm concerned, there are other methods of getting a good soild connection, problem is getting the industry to come together and make it as universal as the 510. I like spring loaded quick locks, a type of fastener I've seen a lot while twisting wrench as a mechanic. The spring load can be high while the turn to lock very short, an example is take a look at the teeth (locks) on a push down and twist child safety cap on a medication bottle, look at the bottle, not the cap, easier to see the teeth, that's just one type I had in mind. This type of bottle, grabbed a pic off the net and zoomed in on the teeth.

I was thinking Kapton tape as well but I don't have any. He wasn't going to include the panels because of the shorting, but I told him I could fix them... As far as the plug, I'll have to see what is all in the box when it arrives as it's "supposed" to be TRVP'ed out. ;)

Do they have Kapton on Amazon up there? They do in the states now, also on WalMart now. WalMart has been trying to grab some of Amazon's business for a year or so down here, more and more you can find stuff sold by a seller and shipped for free for pick up at your local WalMart. A few times I got just as good or better deals from WalMart than Amazon, I now search both but it's more a convoluted search on WalMart's website and you do have to go to the store to pick it up but WalMart has added on more and more venders and more of a wider range or products. I think some Amazon vendors are trying out WalMart these days. https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=kapton tape

Yeah, you have to dig to find out where it coming from unless you have prime which assures you get it in a couple days. You can click on the seller and look at where they are located, you would think by now Amazon would have them list in on the listing page or like ebay click a box for USA or Canada sellers only.

Here's another type of quick lock, a design taken from breach locks of big guns like on ships. These below are used for reloading dies, works very well too. There's a short video on this page showing how to adapt an existing threaded die to a short turn thread, now that may be something everyone with a 510 atty could adapt to a new style mod without having to replace their atty's.

Some years ago I took a tour of the WWII battle ship The North Carolina, you could crawl up inside the gun turrets and get idea what conditions were like for the men firing those big guns 16". The shells and gun powder bags would be hoisted from decks below up to the guns, 16 inch diameter massive shells the weight of a car. The men that controlled the action of the gun, loaded the shell and then the power bags stood a foot from that breach in an enclosed area with NO where to run, you crawled in that area and were sealed in behind a heavy steel door so if something went wrong hopefully the blast wouldn't take out everyone inside the turret. When the gun fired it would recoil back into that area on huge hydraulic cylinders. Those men had some big brass un's to stand there loading round after round during battle, better men then I could ever be!
USS North Carolina (BB-55) - Wikipedia

If you ever get a chance to tour a ship like that it's an amazing sight to behold how they lived and worked on a ship like that for months on end with no land in sight knowing at any time you could be thrust into battle of other ships, subs and planes from above. On deck they left the damage from rounds taken during aircraft strafing the NC took during battle, sent chills up my spine, men would stand their ground and return fire while under fire. She also got hit with a torpedo once into a showering area that instantly killed a five shipmen and wounded many others, they never knew it was coming.

From another newer ship, on the NC there would have been a three man crew, another man on the other side of the man with the wrap on his arm. One man one load the shell, one loaded the powder from separate sides. What this man is pointing to is a door that opens and lowers the shell above. Once the gun is loaded the men have to move back by the man on the left because the gun recoils back into where he is standing now, see the red line on the wall, to there. Don't move and they would have to hose what's left of you out.
