Sitting down, facing forward.
I have no experience with any of that crap. It is interesting to see that the real culprit of the "vape" deaths is finally being admitted to. On the other hand, anyone with half a brain would have realized what the true problem was with the first case of "lipoid pneumonia".

How much you want to bet that the remaining percentage of problems not identified as being THC/cbd related are, indeed, related. The "victims" are just refusing to tell the truth about their use of "recreational" drugs.

More evidence that the government and new media can't accept the obvious and actually report the facts.

I meant to mention earlier that for all you Windoohs fans, and users, you may want to use the Media Creation Tool and download an ISO of the current Windoohs 10 version, 1903 I believe. Microsoft will be issuing a "major" update to version 1909, I believe, in the near future. Having that ISO handy may help get you back to something more stable, and friendly, if the latest version is loaded with gotchas. I downloaded this morning and now have 1903 and the previous one as well, just in case.

And more proof politicians and MSM will always seize any opportunity to exploit and lie in hopes of shaping public opinion. Never let a good crisis go to waste...

Now that the truth has come out I'm sure the states will reverse the bans...

I'm in the process, thanks for the heads up! Question, can I just create a Restore point instead or doesn't that work with these Win 10 rollouts?

I've got to get ready to change to Win 10 on my desktop by next Jan when support for 7 ends, I'm thinking I'll keep 7 for a while and make a dual boot setup for 7 and 10. If anyone sees a good deal on a 500 GB SSD drive please post a heads up! If nothing else I'm laying odds on Black Friday there will be some deals out there somewhere for SSD drives.

I do a nightly full system backup, incremental or differentials; it is full. I keep those on a separate drive. At any given time I could have two weeks of system backups. I plan to use one of those to restore my system if 1909 screws me up. I am no expert here and, so, I am asking if you think this would work?
Follow up question, when you use your ISO or I use my system backup will Windows Update take notice that we have rebelled and then cram it down our throats at night while we sleep in unknowing peace? We wake up and the latest new and improved Windows has taken over the machine.

Good idea. Btw, I removed 1903 from my machines and went back to 1803. Reason since 1903 breaks my GlucoseOne program which hasn't be updated since 2004. I tried to find a better program out there and nothing else comes close. So I won't run anything higher than 1803 here.

Why does it matter if support ends or not? Do you call Microsoft a lot? I used Microsoft software since 1982 and I have never called for support in all of those years. I have four machines here running Windows 10 1803 and support ends in November. Whether support is there or not makes no difference to me. Why does it to you?

And I have another machine that I run Windows XP SP2 12 hours M-F and another running Windows 8 I use 4 hours 7 days a week. It matters not having support. What matters is if your software continues to run or not.

Like about how much? I've seen 500GB SSD running around 50 bucks nowadays.

I believe you can stay at a build number and Windows won't sneak a new build down your throat. It is working so far with four Windows 10 machines here with build 1803. They will continue to sneak updates for 1803 until November when support ends.

They will stop putting out updates, no more security updates, that's my concern. Every time I switch to a new version of windows I'll go the dual boot setup so I can always go back to the earlier version in case I have problems. After some time when I'm confident the new version is working ok, I've learned all I need to, have all my files transferred to the new win, everything in the computer and printers have drivers that work and older software are compatible I'll just stop using the older version, just my safety net for my comfort.

$50 for a 500 GB SSD! Must be the prices has come down, that's half what I paid a year ago, I'll have to do some digging!

BTW, these virtual pc's are handy, I use Oracle VM VirtualBox and it's flawless. You can download free to use preloaded virt pc's with Win 7 & 10 from Microsoft Free Virtual Machines from IE8 to MS Edge - Microsoft Edge Development or make your own if you have other older versions of Win. Note, remote desktop is activated on the MS virt pc's so I'd shut that off first thing. Oracle has some other's that are open source based free for download here Pre-Built Developer VMs for Oracle VM VirtualBox | Oracle Technology Network

Why do you shut off the Remote Desktop? Those virtual images are made to run headless so it's a good option to have running depending on your application.

Never ever had a customers machine compromised with Remote Desktop enabled, they were always behind a firewall with strict rules or through a VPN. A quick port change on RD keeps the script kiddies away too.

There was talk one time of a port knocking gateway, where you could ping a specific number of ports in a specific order and that would open up the ports for remote access. Never did get around to trying it out though.

They plug old holes (usually that hackers has been using for over a year and in one case over a decade) and then create new holes with updates. What good is that? No matter what MS does, they are already too late.

What is far superior to security OS updates are antivirus, firewalls, and the like. Whether something coming in a port is a virus or not, just block it. Blocking it works whether you have OS updates or not. Why do you think I can run so many computers online without updates and I never had a virus installed yet since with my first personal computer back in 1981?

So why does virtually everybody believes security are important? Because people in the business tells you it is! Why? Because it is good for business, partners, government, etc. including hackers! Everyone wins except you the consumer. You lose because new backdoors will get installed, old drivers will break and requires you to buy newer hardware with newer drivers. And cause older software to stop working forcing you to waste your time learning something new when you could do what you were doing just fine before.
