So, my
fastech order came today, not too long just a little over a week. I took all four atomizers apart, 2 Supremes and 2 Augvape Intakes, and ran everything
through the ultrasonic cleaner before putting anything together. I've already got a Supreme V2 running nicely so my first one was an Intake.
The good news is that it's even easier to build on than the Merlin. Clamp style posts but the screws are philips head rather than hex grub screws. The good news there is that the grub screws from an Aromamizer fit, but I filed off the sharp edges and used the philips for now. Wicking was pretty easy, too, especially after wicking Merlins. I trim down to the point that I think is a little too little and that seems to work fine, no leaks.
The assembly, itself, feels kind of marginal to me. Getting the thing together is a PITA because the O ring at the base tries to slip out. That may get better with time but we'll see. The air control ring fell off of one of them and won't come off of the other one. Inconsistency isn't a good sign.
The top fill cap is another PITA. It's hard to lock or unlock but, again, that may improve as it wears in. Capacity is ~4.5 to 5ml which is OK and on a par with the Merlin. The drip tip isn't one I like so I'll be looking for alternates that are a little longer, like double the length. Why is everything coming with drip tips that are so short it makes it look like you've got the whole atomizer in your mouth when taking a hit?
Sp far it is a keeper, though. Easy to build, relatively easy to fill and a reasonable, although somewhat low, liquid capacity. It is producing clouds at 17 watts and 430F on a Hana DNA250. I've got the air flow wide open and it's not too bad for DTL. MTL would work as well and I'll build the other one for the Mrs., tonight or tomorrow morning, and see how she likes it for MTL.
