External USB drives a fine for backup use, but for video surveillance they tend to fail quickly when compared to a surveillance grade internal drive. The drive is constantly, and I mean constantly, being written to or deleting files that they give up the ghost too fast. I tried an 4TB a while back, a WD, and only got about six months out of it before it failed.

What about if I told ya they have Western Digital Red drives inside of them? The comments are saying they are shucking these drives for their NAS setups.

If it ain't a purple it won't hold up. I haven't tried a red for video, but the purple I'm using has been flawless for two years now and still going strong. Yeah, there's a significant price difference but total loss of data is kind of expensive, too.

When we got a new DVR at my work (with Purple WD's) I took the used Purples from the old one and put them in my desktop at home, they are used as storage. None have gone bad as yet.
The old ones had about 3 years use.

So, my fastech order came today, not too long just a little over a week. I took all four atomizers apart, 2 Supremes and 2 Augvape Intakes, and ran everything through the ultrasonic cleaner before putting anything together. I've already got a Supreme V2 running nicely so my first one was an Intake.

The good news is that it's even easier to build on than the Merlin. Clamp style posts but the screws are philips head rather than hex grub screws. The good news there is that the grub screws from an Aromamizer fit, but I filed off the sharp edges and used the philips for now. Wicking was pretty easy, too, especially after wicking Merlins. I trim down to the point that I think is a little too little and that seems to work fine, no leaks.

The assembly, itself, feels kind of marginal to me. Getting the thing together is a PITA because the O ring at the base tries to slip out. That may get better with time but we'll see. The air control ring fell off of one of them and won't come off of the other one. Inconsistency isn't a good sign.

The top fill cap is another PITA. It's hard to lock or unlock but, again, that may improve as it wears in. Capacity is ~4.5 to 5ml which is OK and on a par with the Merlin. The drip tip isn't one I like so I'll be looking for alternates that are a little longer, like double the length. Why is everything coming with drip tips that are so short it makes it look like you've got the whole atomizer in your mouth when taking a hit?

Sp far it is a keeper, though. Easy to build, relatively easy to fill and a reasonable, although somewhat low, liquid capacity. It is producing clouds at 17 watts and 430F on a Hana DNA250. I've got the air flow wide open and it's not too bad for DTL. MTL would work as well and I'll build the other one for the Mrs., tonight or tomorrow morning, and see how she likes it for MTL.

My big FT order is still on some boat after sitting in my cart for months. Back from when y'all discussed those flashlights and Troll told me about the Fuji drip tips. A whopping $36. :) And shipping was a whopping 4 cents.

    4 RMA's to Hudson.
2 new Gold Hana 40's fell through at $5 a pop.
Headed to Morgantown WV on Friday as the home base for the women's spree.

Edit: And I won a Voopoo Vinci X on here. Pod device, RBA, houses an 18650 :thumb: There'll go my BB for a few weeks

Here is a screen of Device Monitor showing 23 puffs on the device. It has more like 26,000.
This may be already known to some but I just learned about it tonight. As far as I know this is only going to work on a DNA60. First save your configuration then flash the FW to the one with the screen size that you don't have then flash it back to the one that you do have. While I see little to no value by doing this I found it interesting.
