I use wired, WiFi, and Bluetooth. It also depends on the source and what I am doing. My podcasts are usually voice and the quality doesn't have to be great or anything. So the type of connection usually doesn't matter either. Music on the other hand, fidelity is important. So Bluetooth is not often used unless I don't have much of a choice. ;)

Informative! I tried an MP3 player to car audio and I thought the problem may have been the quality of the player, although it was quite good with headphones.

Been there, done that.

So you've had a modern Mac? Running OS, & you like windows better?

I have both running side by side here, I much prefer my Mac, in fact my windows machine has become an after thought! Only used for one thing :(

Funny I never seen any videos showing how to turn a Mac into a PC #Hackintosh :pervy:

We have one Mac book here, my son's.
I had a Mac Book Pro a few years back, used Boot Camp and mostly ran XP on it.

It takes some time to get used to OS. I was invested in Windows & knew nothing about OS! I had to learn all over again. Mac is a bit of a closed system, they don't let everyone just add what ever they want. Windows folks consider this a Con, I see it as too many cooks spoil the soup! IMO this is why a Mac works better :) Kind of like building every thing in one plant, quality control is easier that way :)

That is a huge problem with me. You are limited to what Apple approves of. And for the privilege, you pay 3 times more than what it is worth. :(

I fly RC crafts and progress means 2.4GHz, GPS, satellite mapping, etc. And for the software, you have two choices. iOS or Android. And it's another system that they force updates down your throat. And of course, things were working fine before and now the new updates causes the device to reboot when you make a sharp left turn. Now you are flying blind and can't see a thing. No data, no nothing, just a black screen.

Those that used iOS said it doesn't happen with theirs. So being sworn off Apple, I had little choice. And the iPhone SE was cheap enough and less Apple than anything Apple sold. So I bought one. Now they quit making them and offered nothing to replace it. So I bought a spare before they are all gone. But that is it. I am not interested in any other Apple products ever! And that iOS 13 is the worst ever!

Ever read the comments on Windows machines? Like I was reading the Lenovo Legion Y530 comments before I bought one (then two) and there was a number of Apple fans who just gave up on Apple, since they can't afford them anymore. And they were surprised on how much nicer and faster Windows is compared to Apple.

Damn I hate Spectrum so much! Spectrum = Rectum, better fit. :sneaky: Now they're putting adds in the channel list, For $209 a month for TV and internet I shouldn't have to see adds there! I guess they need the money...

I like the ability to customize a Computer to suit my needs and preferences. I find that Apple products are too locked down for my taste. Now with that ability to customize comes the ability to screw things up, it is a double edge sword. With Apple, most everything just works, and I do see the appeal in that.

Nonetheless, I have made a good living supporting Windows systems, and consequently I am familiar enough to make them suit me.

Most of Us aren't I.T. geniuses. I just want a Computer that works, most of the time :) I'v had my Mac for several years & at least 3 different OS upgrades, I haven't missed a beat :) The mac I have isn't too expensive, all in with the wireless mouse & key board, upgraded Ram + a 32" monitor, all for under a Grand :) Maybe a bit more in todays prices :(

BTW.....

At one time in my career I earned this title, highest cert offered by MS at the time.

But the whole MS Certification thing became a racquet unto itself. They kept changing things, not only in the OS but in the requirements to keep your certification current. It costs a small fortune to keep the certification current.

I found that having the skills and knowledge got me further than some certification did. Certifications may be good for a resume, but so is 30+ years of computing experience.

This is what I was referring to, seems this is quite popular now!
See! Apple could be both competitive and affordable. But Apple would rather continue to take advantage of customers who don't know any better. Why would this sound attractive to anybody besides Apple?

It's a good business model! They want to sell less machines & make more $
Who wouldn't want that?

Sure, it is gold for Apple. But they are taking advantage of people who don't know any better and stealing their money.

You can look at it like that, or, they give people machines that work! by limiting 3rd party software & make them pay for it! Great Business Model!

My Windows machines work fine until Microsoft updates them. And my iOS works fine until Apple updates them. So it is the lesser of two evils for me.

It is a Model that has propelled them to one of the top spots. They position themselves as a "premium" product. Nothing wrong with that. Just not my cup of tea.
