I have three Paranormals Wayneo. The first and the last ones have removable panels. The last one is my only SS. I only bought the last one because they were disappearing off of store shelves and I thought I better buy another one before they are all gone. I only put Frank's Theme on it and made sure it works and put it back in the box for safe keeping. :D

Wonder why they went with visible screws? Wouldn't magnet or glue worked there just as well with out the unsightly screw heads :(

If you don't mind the NZL Abalone Shell versions, they don't show the screws. But you can feel them underneath. :(

I received my headlight relay today and decided to install it even though I might not have needed it. It provides power directly from the battery to make sure the ballasts have adequate power at all times. I thought I might as well put the capacitors in too. I got it all installed, double checked my wiring and turned on the lights.
The driver's side headlight didn't work....then I saw smoke...then a small pop.
The capacitor on the driver's side must have had the polarity reversed, this shouldn't have happened as the plugs can only be inserted one way. I checked the wiring on the plugs comparing the polarity to the other capacitor and the were the same. I then proceeded to cut the plastic housing from the capacitor to check if the red wire went to positive on the capacitor but it was thoroughly encased in resin.
I left the relay connected, it works fine, not sure if it's any better till I drive it to work tonight. I suspect it will simply be the same as without the relay.
I've washed my hands a few time now and they still smell like a fried dna board.

So I proceeded to check the other capacitor with my meter and the results make me think that there is more than just a capacitor inside the box.

EDIT: I have been looking at a bunch of these and found the problem with the ones that I received.
Note in the picture of the ones in this post the plug on the one in the back is wired backwards.
See my next post for more.

So on the ones that I received the female plug is wired backwards, here is a picture of it:
And here is what every other one that I looked at except for the one in the above post looks like:

But should be wired like this:

The pair were only $6 delivered, I guess I got what I paid for. Anyway I put in for a refund, it's a Walmart seller.

So here's the last post hopefully about my capacitors. While the one plug on each capacitor was wired backwards I still should have noticed that it was backwards as I was able see that I was plugging black to red and vise versa, all I had to do was pay closer attention to what I was doing. I seem to be having problems in that area lately.
I'm glad it was minor and that I don't need them.

I gave the food chopper a preliminary clean up at work. When I got it home I got the Dremel after it. Then I scrubbed it with a tooth brush, dried it and slimmed it with vegetable oil and baked it for awhile. It's ready to store but I will clean the food contact areas again and use it.
