Well, I bit the bullet and ordered some mesh decks.

I am happy with the vape I currently get. My motivation is the perceived simplicity of mesh. I can make my TI fused claptons and coil them, but as my eyes and fat fingers get older, a simpler approach has appeal.

No I gotta read up on how to wick rayon into these things. Its coming from FT so I have plenty of time.

Interesting, I have thought of doing something like that for squonking and also for the same reasons.

I find in using Rayon since it shrinks, I had problems because the amount you would wick is really tight and can be difficult. Having a spring loaded wick support helps with that problem. I've also wicked Rayon by only clamping one side of mesh, insert Rayon wick with a kind of slide/spin motion and then clamp the remaining mesh. Only issue with this is to much pressure you may deform you mesh a little. Let us know once you play how you like.

I wick mesh with Rayon by clamping one side of the coil then start building up Rayon strips. Test fit by folding the other end of the mesh over the bundle of Rayon. Just when you think there is enough, pack in a few more strips. It will take some delicate force to clamp down the other side of the mesh but it has to be super tight. The Rayon needs to touch every mm of exposed mesh, if it doesn't, that section will get red hot and provide the nastiest dry hit you've ever experienced.

Since Rayon shrinks away from the mesh over time, you will need to pack it with more density that you would a regular coil IMHO. Once you have experienced a full on mesh dry hit from hell (everyone should at least once) you become very leery about taking long hauls on a mesh build. All it takes is one tiny little section of wick to pull away from the mesh.

You have been warned.

That and the possibility of creating Chromium (VI) from the high temp SS are the reasons I gave up on my mesh experiments back in early 2014.

Series of experiments with extemly low resistance

Yeah, right. Will someone validate this claim, and report back. :D
Those headphones are absolutely gorgeous to look at but they don't sound very good compared to what's out there today.
Only posting cuz I get to say 'Nice cans' all innocent like. I didn't notice them at all. TrollDragon, you must be way older than me :)

Unfortunately it is true. You get this narrow stream of super hot pure metal vapor that burns anything in its path. :censored:

I have two very rare Pioneer Monitor 10 cans from 1976. One I bought brand new back then and one I bought used about 20 years later. They are very professional studio like cans for the time.

Temp Control Should help with that? The 316L SS strips in the Plus, Don't Glow Red when in TC :)
BTW I didn't even notice the Head Phones
