Last Tuesday I was at work and I pressed the switch on my Darwin and nothing. I tried pressing the switch several times and still nothing. The switch seemed like it was stuck and not able to move. Since I was at work and without another device to use I decided to take the screws out and top part of the device off so I could see what was going on with the switch. The switch was broken so there was nothing I could do to fix it. While taking the screws out 3 of them broke. I suffered through the rest of the work day without any nicotine and certainly wasn't going to smoke an analog since its been over 1 year since I had even one.
Tuesday night I went to Evolv's site and used the contact us link to let them know about my issue. When I woke up Wed and checked my email I got a response from Kat. My expectations were that I would send Evolv my Darwin they would repair the switch and send it back and figured that would take at least a week.
To my suprise Kat asked me for my address and informed me that she would be sending out a replacement unit that day and asked me to send back my non-functional Darwin once I recieved the replacement. I couldn't believe it! She didn't send it out 1st class mail or even priority but express!!! I had my replacement Darwin Thursday!!! Evolv is really going above and beyond what we are used to.
If you are considering purchasing the Darwin and are worried about being without it for extended periods of time if something does go wrong don't because Evolv will take care of it a lot faster than you expect. I knew I purchased the best PV made and even more impressed by how Evolv resolved the issue. I bought one of the 1st run and the switch was never very easy to press down. The replacement appears to have an improved switch because it is much easier to press and the hole the atomizer goes into is not drilled as deep so atomizer sits a bit higher which should allow the arm to close even with a thicker atomizer.
Do not remove the screws as they are made of brass and can break without contacting Evolv first. They could have very easily told me I was SOL because I took the unit apart to try to fix the switch which technically voided the warranty.
