I don't know, if someone would have suggested Jan of this year I would be a non smoker I would have laughed them out of the room, why in the world would I ever give it up, the immediate benefits far out weighed the potential risks HOWEVER due to circumstances I accidentally gave it up I can't say I have any cravings and the minor thought now and then gets taken care of with a puff or two. I am having a great time learning something new and enjoy the DIY and I have some hope of perhaps educating people about vaping not just smokers but others as well even non smokers have reached their limit of how much bad publicity smokers get. Who knows if I get bored with it maybe but I suspect I might prefer a little pick me up now and then and clarity of thought, wakefulness and stress reduction may be beneficial at times.

Any chance that is at exit 382 west of Lincoln? Especially "nice" on a hot summer day after a rain.
Ah just had to drop that on me, i'm trying to remember as I've never paid attention as the all just roll into the "just another" exit for me but it's to Milford

OP what's "super dangerous" about it?

and I don't know..I know at almost a year..I'm off smokes..and if vaping keeps me that way ..then I'll vape..I'd originally planned to wean off at year..then maybe two..to change any habit it takes time...

if some VALID study comes out tomorrow that shows it to be "super dangerous" (aka more harmful than ciggies) then yeah I'll probably stop. But for now..I'm SMOKEFREE, let me enjoy that for a bit..then I'll think about quitting vaping, which I've gone for whole days working or forgot a vape and I was just fine..so it's not going to be as hard as quitting smoking.

So for now I'm adopting the Scarlet O'Hara mentality with it.."Fiddle dee dee...I'll think about that tomorrow".:w00t:

I like nicotine, and have never felt a desire to stop using it. Quite the opposite, in fact. What I wanted to do was stop inhaling smoke, thereby eliminating the very tangible effects it was having on my health. Vaping allowed me to do that without giving up nicotine, and in a way that is actually much more enjoyable for me than smoking ever was.

Am I worried about potential health problems from vaping? If something tangible surfaces, as in, something I can feel within my body that is cause for concern, I'll re-think vaping. At this moment, I feel better physically than I've felt in 20 years. That's what matters. I could speculate all day about the potential risks of vaping, and I'm sure that in some way or other, it is a risk. So is that bag of sodium laced chips, that chocolate cake, that street corner I want to cross, x,x,x,x,x,...

Now, if I'm forced to stop vaping, that'll also be a health risk. I'll become an extremely angry and/or otherwise mentally distressed individual. In other words, I'll have to join the masses.

Regardless, I reserve the right to stop vaping should I decide it no longer works for me. :)

I used to smoke half a pack a day and now I'm quit. I'm vaping 12mg now. I used to do 24. Granted I do sub ohm now. My main question is do you ex smokers ever plan on cutting down to zero nic if you haven't already. Do you ever plan on quitting altogether? Vaping for me has become a hobby and here's second part of my question. Do you consider vaping a successful quit of smoking? Many say not enough studies to say whether it's safe. But I think it's like saying if you smoke it's like souping up sports cars and street racing. Sure it's fun but super dangerous. Vaping is like souping up your car but instead going to car shows and drives. Much safer and a healthy hobby.

Yes and no.. I started to quit smoking, but at the moment i enjoy vaping and everything around it so much that i'm not sure if i want to quit that. Perhaps in the far future i might stop vaping as well, as long i don't use those stinky sticks no more, i'm happy. I already sub ohm 0mg nic juices also 3mg and even 6mg. And i notice that my real addiction is not the nicotine, my real addiction is the whole movement; to suck something (... okee...) and blow out smoke/vape. Making O-rings and i love the fact when i blow towards the tv, that i can't see it due to the dense vape :D

An extra benefit with vaping, it tastes nice! It feels like i'm tasting different kinds of wine and some are really nice, others are just horrible. Whereas smoking just used to be a nic fix and often it didn't even taste nice.

I have tried to go to zero nic. I still missed something. I had hoped to have quit vaping at the end of last year that did not come to fruition. After 30 years of smoking and 3 of vaping, I decided I will just let the cards fall where they may and not worry about it anymore. I have better things to worry about.

I agree with this, except I'd add one more and that would be if by some small chance definitive proof comes out that vaping was somehow worse than smoking. In which case I would quit everything. If it came out that vaping was say 50% as bad as smoking I'd still vape for as long as I can breathe.

I guess it becomes age dependent, and at my age, I don't expect any definitive conclusions while I am around. And even it there were, I have learned (sometimes the hard way) that those responsible for those conclusions know they are allowed to change their minds and reverse those definitive conclusions as they see fit.

Ah just had to drop that on me, i'm trying to remember as I've never paid attention as the all just roll into the "just another" exit for me but it's to Milford

I thought there might be a good chance that was it as I spent my first 42 or so years growing up in Milford.

I dropped my nic level from 24 to 3 & haven't felt the need to go to 0 but I can't say I'm ruling it out.
Yes, with out vaping I would have never been able to stop smoking. I've tried EVERYTHING to help quit, but nothing seemed to work in the long run & I always went back.
It may not be safe, but I feel better then I did when I smoked. Breathing air in some city's is worse then smoking or vaping.
I don't ever plan on giving vaping up....ever:vapor:

i have no plans to stop. i do plan to drop nicotine down a bit.. but don't think ill go to 0mg/ml nic. it can be discouraging when people are uninformed and only see it as trading one evil for another. my parents for example are very proud that ive quit smoking.. but look at vaping as still a big vice. i tell them ive dropped down to 6 from 24 mg/ml and they are proud of that but are like.. when are you going to get to zero and not need it. they don't get that this is already a major milestone.. but.. im an adult.. and i have to live for myself (something i have never done enough of in the past). i am blessed to have co-workers that encourage my vaping bc i make the office smell better... never had anyone be happy when i blew smoke into a room.. :D i get told i smell good all the time now too.. even if its not vape related.. i don't have the stink hanging over me and people can smell if im wearing anything (surpisingly my deodorant gets a ton of (positive) attention)

I actually am down to zero nic now! I started out at 36 mg, and I've back my way down over the last couple years. I'm proud to say I am down to zero nic! I do it now as a hobby, stress reliever, and just because I'm a cloud chaser in general. :) yes. It's a successful way to quit. I'm living proof. Been vaping for 3 years. I can actually run again I run a 7 minute mile now. It makes me feel great. So yes. It's a great way to quit. :)

Will I ever give up vaping? I smoked cigarettes for 45+ years...pack and a half a day. It has (as of today) been 5 weeks since I smoked a cigarette. It is unlikely that I could have done it without vaping. I enjoy it. I still have the social component associated with smoking without the toxins. Never give it up? I don't know about never, but it won't be for awhile. I've got a Protank 2 on order ; )

You already touched on part of my answer. If they find that there is some highly dangerous side effect, if the future of ecigs heads to where I need to black market my supplies, if ecigs and all just disappear - the answer is Yes I will quit vaping...

No. It might save me from the alzheimers that got one grandmother, and the senile dementia that cursed the last 20 yrs life of the other.

I've already quit smoking. The only way I'd quit vaping is if I decided that smoking wasn't so bad after all so I'll just start back -- i.e., not gonna happen. Why would I quit doing the only thing that's ever allowed me to abstain from smoking?

Of course; see above -- I've quit smoking. I don't buy cigarettes, I don't set fire to them and inhale the smoke -- quit smoking. That is what makes it a successful quit, and all the other methods I've tried unsuccessful -- vaping actually works, I don't smoke.

Thanks for making my post easy.
I didn't want to quit smoking, I just wanted to feel better so no no plans to stop no plans for zero nic.
