So after 2 weeks of vaping in the house my wife(who is a smoker) tells me she thinks that me vaping in the house is making it smell like we've been burning incense in the house and the air seems heavy. Now I'll concede that some flavors linger a bit longer, like cherry. I had agreed to not use those in the house.Over a week ago she said vanilla was ok, until now.

At this point I've agreed to wait until our daughter comes home from school for a weekend. Since she is a non-smoker my wife agreed that she could be the judge. Until then my options are smokey garage or even colder front porch.

We have both smoked in the garage for years. Should've known my freedom to stay in the house would be short lived.

Maybe she is more jealous because she still has to go outside. Have you tried getting her interested in vaping? Maybe as she sees the benefits she will be more interested.

Good luck!

I've been vaping in three rooms of my house for over 2 years. One of them (the attic) sees a lot of vapour. :)

None of them smell, and that is asking visitors who neither smoke nor vape.

Temporary smell, yes, I can believe. Permanent odour.. none at all.

I've also vaped in a new sports car (that I bought to celebrate quitting tobacco).. no smell in there either..

For me, I'm convinced. :)

I never smoked in my car.. but I vape in it.. and all the non-smokers never made a comment about any smell...

My wife quit smoking cold turkey.. I vape.. She's okay with it more now than before because she sees that I stick with it.. When many others she knows do not.
Good luck on handling your wife.. and as another has said never trust the nose of a smoker.

BTW .. Welcome to the forum..

Hi, Alawot! :) Get your wife an electric space heater and a comfy rocking chair for the garage......Could maybe throw in a TV.....Oh, and a side table to set her hot tea on......A plaque.....Yeah a plaque that says "Woman Cave"....... On the other hand, she just may feel lonely for your company out there. ;)

Were you a smoker and smoked with her?

I think this is a case of your wife feeling left out to be honest and pushing you away. Women are strange this way. Maybe try encouraging her to join you on your vape journey and you can both vape in the house together. Maybe that is all she is REALLY looking for cause this is really a lame excuse. I think there is more behind what she is really complaining about perhaps.

Have a serious conversation about it. It is your home to and as a non smoker now, you do NOT deserve to be treated as a smoker by a smoker.
