Always support a good local shop when you can. You may not buy all your stuff there, but it is so nice to have stuff local to try.

I'm almost done buying stuff. I hope. I think. At least in the mod department. Might need tanks at some point, and I'll always need cartos, attys and such. But until I have to replace an MVP I'm done buying mods :D

I've been telling myself that for 5 years. My new Nemesis should be joining the family tomorrow.

In California, they are trying to ban internet sales and I have seen other proposed legislation to stop vaping gear into the state similar to Canada...........your local B&M is a glimpse into the future. High prices and uneducated salespeople

If there weren't so many around me, I would open one.

it could just be an Alaskan thing.

We have t shirts we wear just for the tourist season which we refer to as terrorist season. The front of the t shirt says "Hi welcome to Alaska" the back says "Now leave".

I don't share that view, I love Alaska and want everyone else to love it too. I am always trying to convince people to come visit.

You gotta admit Alaska is perfect though :D, we don't want it to end up like New York (no hate on NY). I think their are "Alaskans" all around the world though, and I agree we have alot of room for more. We're just and extreme land, with extreme mentality.

I have been to many Vape shops where the owner/employees definitely have that I am better then you are because I know more than you mentality and it can be a turn off.

I am so happy they like there 400 dollar mod, but lets get serious it is still just a battery in a pretty tube no need to treat me and my VTR or whatever I am using at the time like scum. I drove two hours to a B&M only to be treated like a chump. At one point both employees started rebuilding their drippers and would not help me for 20 minutes. Unacceptable.... I was an idiot and still spent more than 300 dollars on stuff. I love the equipment I got but not the experience I had. It might be the last time I take a road trip to check out a store.

Although I've heard many stories at this point about folks who started vaping and IMMEDIATELY laid down the smokes, I don't think that's true at all for most of us; most of us kept smoking less and less until they just tasted so bad compared to the vapes, what was the point of continuing something so expensive, fatal, and nasty-tasting? So why make yourself ill with a nic level that's too high? You don't really know what's too high until you have it, and THAT is the most awful feeling; FAR better to start low, see how it affects you, and maybe increase it if it seems advisable.

Just my :2c:...
Andria

I had the EXACT experience Andria; for me vaping was a side fling at first. I was only interested in well, how interesting it was, and only used it lightly while indoors. And then as I got more into it I began vaping alot at my home, and initially I think made me not want to go outside and have a smoke, however I would still smoke everytime I left the house. After that phase, I only started smoking on my drive to work, vaping on my break, and then one more smoke on my drive back. Finally I only smoked one cig in the morning on my drive to work (because that one in the morning is magical) and the rest of the day was all vaping. That sole morning cig though began to feel and taste too strong, I actually started to notice how my breath smelled, and how my sense of taste vanished immediately. Now I'm totally immersed in vaping and am proud of myself, not only that I feel happier and healthier every day (financially as well). I've always taken great oral care of myself, but I would always try not to direct my breathe at people anyway. Now I have a hollywood smile and laugh heartily into peoples nostrils (it's a confidence thing with me too, that's what I'm getting at) now they smell fields of strawberries if I get intimate lol.

It's the greatest place I've been in my life and after 10 years in the Navy I've seen and lived in a lot of places and so far none compare to the raw beauty of AK.

Well, I realize that up there where you are, winter is pretty much all you have for, what, 6-7 months of the year? But down here in GA, we're having the coldest winter in 30 years! The last 2, we had ZERO white stuff flying or falling, which is a little odd; it doesn't usually stick or stick long down here, but snow and ice do visit us from time to time. But this year... BRRRRRR!!! So by Dec I was really hating having to go out to the front porch and freeze my buns off; got an Njoy, thought it was a great idea but tasted like a Hall's cough drop - eucalyptus. So I got a Blu -- pipe tobacco. So then I got mad, and said, I know there must be SOMETHING about e-cigs online... WHOA, is there something about e-cigs online!! :D Found this forum via the app on Facebook, came and started asking questions, about "cigalikes" because I was very attached to the feeling of a cigarette in my hand. Got an eRoll, found this Virginia FINALLY, and yay! no longer had to go outside to "smoke". And the more I did it, the more I liked it, and hated the taste of the cigarettes, and the inconvenience, and THE COST!!! So I finally just said, the hell with these stupid things, I don't need them anymore, I have something BETTER. Then I got an iTaste, and wow, did I discover better!!!

I too, have noticed a little "snarky-ness" at a couple of B&M stores. I just put it down to my being a more mature (ha - OLDER) user. It reminds me of being inside a Karma store with my friends when I was a teenager, and older people would come in. We would be thinking they were outsiders to our little kingdom, as obviously, they were CLUELESS! Now that I'm the older person, I get it. Just smile and nod, and realize that some people need to feel superior for their own reasons, and don't let it affect YOUR day. Vape on!

AndriaD, I SO agree with you! In my opinion, this forum has been a life saver! Nobody around me used e cigs, and until recently there were no B&M's so, all of my info. came from looking it up online. Thankfully, I stumbled over this forum, and was able to get REAL reviews from people not trying to sell me something! I spent alot of unnecessary money at first.

Lol. I can understand that some are snobby for no real reason. The local b&m here hate to see me coming, as I'm a die hard drpper. They mostly cater to the tankers, which I do find inferior, however, to each their own, and aside from this or if I get a legit question, I do not express my opinion. I think the b&m's don't like to see me because once I was looking at the wire they were selling for 1$ per foot. I asked how they justified that since I purchase 100 foot for 7$. Also, I absolutely hate these punk kids out in public, blowing their huge clouds, in places like restaurants. I take that sort of behavior personally, as I firmly believe those activities make us all look like fools to the less than educated public. These kids doing this are just that, kids, which are typically known for doing dumb stuff. IMHO, blowing huge clouds out in the public, is disrespectful to all, including us fellow vapors, drawing negative attention to themselves. Dont get me wrong, like I said earlier, to each their own, but the extreme sport of cloud chasing should be kept behind closed doors. Just my thoughts on the matter, and just maybe a cause for some of the arrogance occurring associated with vaping.

Now that I'm in my 50s, I notice a lot of this kind of snarkiness from young folks; I've come to realize that older folks know a LOT more, but younger folks seem to think they invented the world. :D When you add that many times older folks have physical disabilities that make them seem "out of it" (my parents could open their own pharmacy with all their meds!), the younger people think the older ones are half-past dead, and they could not be more wrong -- just because the body gets older and not as reliable, doesn't mean the MIND does the same!

But I just smile at the kiddos; if they're really lucky, they'll get here too. :D

*Just wanna preface this post with this statement: everyone on this site/forum(s) has been amazing, and not the source of snobbery I'm noticing (it's a very small amount too), It's coming from my homeplace of AK, and various youtube video commments etc.
No hate in this forum everyone :rickroll:, I'm simply starting to notice alot of "hipstery" (hipsters are the one's who think they liked everything "before it was cool" fyi) snobbery coming from some "professional" or "veteran" vapers in my local vapeshops. I really do think it's amazing if you've been vaping for years even a decade or two, because your using the safer nicotine alternative, and way ahead of this growing subculture. However, I've seen alot of "experiencism" for lack of a better word lol . Meaning the professionals are hating on the people that are new to vaping, or hating on their equipment, whether they use cheaper cartos and egos shouldn't really matter to an "elite dripper" (Yes, I was new once, and used the cheapest possible vaping device possible). It's just been popping up around my town alot in the vape shops I've noticed, and there's almost a sense of "get out of my sub-culture, your making it less cool" feel.

I think we could all just a have a vape together, and share the love :vapor:; whether it's for technology, health, smelling better, or even the coolness of the growing culture. :2cool:
Aaaaaand here's a hot girl vaping because why not?

I have never seen any direct snobbery here, I think this is a remarkably cohesive group actually. I do (and maybe this is my own insecurity) feel a bit odd because there are plenty of posts looking down on the set up that I have chosen with my cig a likes. Not everyone wants or needs to evolve from cig a likes, in my case, I think it is a frequency issue. I calculate I go through 2-3ml a day. Compared to many users on here, that is not a lot of juice, and my little batteries last plenty long for me, I have several, I love my little cartridgrs, love my juices, I am a happy girl.

So it is odd to see my cig a likes, for lack of a better word, bashed. I get the feeling that the experienced vapors assume all us sillies who use them will come around eventually and get "a real set up". That mentality, while not overtly hostile, does not always feel good

I think that whatever works is the best thing. I don't down play any method. I didn't go that route but that doesn't mean they aren't good. I tried the e-cig and it made me miss smoking. I say if it works good and to the others don't listen to them. We all vape differently. I am glad you are on this forum.

Tom
