I just got my Prodigy using 510 attys and after reading all the reviews I am so very disappointed with this device. Works wonderful, great taste and all but the batteries last less then my 510's batteries! I drip 2-3 drops at a time and with 2 fully charged batteries I can vape maybe 12 drops before the batteries die, less than 1 hour. I tried both sets, I made sure they were fully charged and still, less than an hour. Have I wasted my money on this?

Sounds like your charger doesn't work properly. If you have a multimeter this would be easier to diagnose. It is possible that you have some bad batteries as well. Once again the multimeter could diagnose this. I would try labeling your batteries one through four and trying different combos. I vape like a fool with a vaporizer that used CR2 batteries and those don't last nearly as long as the batteries for the prodigy. I get at least four hours of heavy vaping off of old batteries. I am sure Steve will set you straight and figure out what is going on. Good luck. I am sure it will be figured out. Cheers.

Hey Jenny,

You can read around about the connection points on many threads in here too. If your anxious to try it out I know you can pick up some disposable CR2 batteries at Radio Shack. But I have run into it not working or thinking it's not working on a few occasions and then after checking the 3 points it's back to screaming again!

1)Take the batteries out
2)Take the atomizer off
3)Unscrew the adapter
4)Make sure that the switch is seated correctly
5)Make sure the button on the top of the switch is centered
6)Put the switch back in and then the adapter on tightly.
7)Batteries back in and the battery cap on tightly.
8)Atomizer back on and see if that works.

Sometimes I have to do this a couple of times because I didn't get the adapter on quite right or on too tight. But by far after trying a SE Gold, kissbox, 2 Janty Sticks, and my Prodigy. The Prodigy is the best devise that I have. So if reattaching everything and oh yeah clean the threads of the adapter cap and the metal housing too. Sometimes that can be the culprit as well. But if any of this doesn't work then it's probabally your batteries. Hope this helps!

I'm going to give it a try. I also noticed that the batteries are quite loose in the charger, so I'm going to try to 'tighten' that up also. I have written to PS and they seem to think it's a battery issue... I want this to work because when it does it is WONDERFUL! I can see that this will be the only one I'll use. PS was great, replied very quickly!

Have you thought it might be the plastic wrapping around the battery that's preventing the spring from making good contact with the battery?

errr....nope....but I am checking it out now! It seems easy to peel it around the edges. I have a set charging now, I gently bent the prongs in the charger because the batteries were very loose in there. I want to try one more FULL charge now with the plastic peeled away. After reading all of the great suggestions here, I'm not going to give up!

My Guess is the negative contacts on your charger need to be bent outward a bit. You should be able to flip your charger upside down with batteries inserted, shake it gently and batteries should not fall out.

Hey Jenny,

Instead of peeling the plastic back (since we've had a few people peel too much and have their batteries overheat, etc) you might want to try just slightly bending the top of the spring to make it smaller so that it only makes contact with the metal. I hope this helps!

Some folks seem to think the plastic shrink wrapping on the batteries is just there for appearances. The shrink wrap plastic coating on your protected batteries is what holds all the components together! Don't peel it off! Your (protected) LiFePO4 batteries internal circuitry is critical to prevent overcharging/overdischarging, Thus maintaining the health of the battery... It's like cutting the basket floor out of your hot air baloon because it might obstruct the view.8-o

Bending the spring worked like a charm for my Prodigy. I was having trouble getting it to work again every time I changed the batteries. Now it's works perfectly....

I'M RIGHT HERE
i had to bend the end of my spring in the end-cap also. this has been a issue with the prodigy since it's release for sale. it does not happen to all but a few is a few to many. an easy fix is to just bend the final curl straight so it looks like G.
i dont know why we as consumers should be doing this and take a chance of breaking or what not. a small design flaw that Steve should have changed long ago.
