So Clue me in?

What Exactly is Unethical about doing what you say is going on?

I don't know if you have ever been in a Grocery Store before. But competition for Shelf Dominance and Product Elimination is about as Common Place as Shopping Carts with Wobbly Wheels.

And BTW, has any of this Been Substantiated?

Don't take the next paragraph as defending the OP.

If he is saying what I think he might be - What is happening would not be exactly the same as predatory pricing but it would be akin to it, which would be unethical and illegal. It is something Getty and some of the early 20th century oil barons did. They had enough money in reserve to lose money by selling their product below cost. This would drive smaller companies out of business. They would then jack the price sky high because there was no competition in their marketplace. That was the birth of monopoly laws in the US on the basis it violates principles of free market capitalism and would eventually drive the economy to a different breed of capitalism that so many mistakenly think is at play in ALL capitalist societies.

If that is indeed happening the OP has a point, however there are two problems I see with his post. Wrong place and it is not substantiated. I see nothing to indicate the practice would be workable in the current market of the industry. Well, his entire writing style is just a put off to me so I guess there are three issues, lol.

To be fair, nobody NEEDS a boyfriend either. My point was we need food, air, water. Do we need a SO? I think not.

No bitterness, truly, just where I am at the moment.

I am simply enjoying the fruits of single life. I think it is under-appreciated. This is just one man's (who could be accused of being in the throes if a mid-life crisis) opinion.

Tapped out

*scratches his lordship behind the ears*
lolol oh been there done that...almost to that point again.....sometimes we need a course correction in our lives

and now back to....
OT: if the so called trade was of equal value then I do not see how this is unethical? It's called doing business....
It's like Krispry kreme donuts asking a grocery store to stop carrying [insert mom and pop donuts here] and solely carry their product.

As a former tobacco store owner....the cig reps always came in trying to jockey for more display space by offering better buy down prices...this is not unethical, it's called business...the more "ad space" you give to a company the better discount they give you so you can lower your prices for your customers....

Lets not throw to much More Conjecture on something that is Unsubstantiated Already.

What the OP described (which at this Point I will consider to be a Hypothetical Situation) is Not Illegal in a Free, Unrestricted Market. And would Probably be Considered Unethical Only by a Complete Business Purest.

It is Also a Widely Used Practice in Both Wholesale and Retail Sales.

What I have a Problem with is a Person Posting something like this, with Absolutely No Proof of it Occurring, and then going MIA in their Own Thread.

Coupled with the Fact that the Link he Provides has the Line that he Doesn't want to say More because he Doesn't Want to throw Accusations Around.

BTW - is Hypocrisy spelled "Hypocrisy"? Or is it "Hypocrosy"?
