Facts learned in vape stores...

I'll be the first to admit that Upstate South Carolina is not exactly a 'hotbed' of vaping activity. But I've been to the three stores within 50 miles and, well, I really feel sorry for newbies trying to learn about vaping.

I was curious as to what they were telling new vapers/people interested in learning about vaping. In one case, I went in myself with an ego/mini vivi nova. In the other two cases, I sent in my younger son with an ego/ce4 (because I've been to those two stores myself and knew they'd recognize me). And, in each case, I/my son bought 10mL of their two best-selling juices (so as not to totally waste their time).

Anyway, this is what new vapers are being told in my area...

10mL of juice is the equivalent of a carton of cigarettes.
A ce4 cartomizer will last about two months.
Vivi Novas will leak all over your battery and short it out.
A 650mAh ego battery will last all day (before needing to be re-charged).
Ego batteries generally last about a year.

Thank God I learned about ecf relatively early in my vaping experience.

I'm at a year and a half on my Joye eGo batteries and they're running fine. But knock-offs- yeah, could die pretty quick.

the one girl at my local vape shop was very informative and everything she told me was backed up here. especially when she said i should absolutely have a back up battery and that starting off with a mod is a great idea because i'll get one anyway. i didn't start with oneand i certainly got one a few weeks later.

I've heard many things from B&M's. Most in my area are pretty educated but going a little further away, they tend to sell you on stuff you don't really need.

Sounds like a mix of truth and fiction, except for 10ml being equal to a carton of cigs. Then again, who knows? What is it equivalent to? I don't even know. But a carto can last 2 months for light vaping. I used the same 2 coils on a Vivi Nova for about 9 months! In my experience, Vivi Novas do leak onto the battery, and into the mouth piece. I'm sure not all do, but it's true for some. It would be easier to say a 650 lasts 6.5 hours but for a light user that's enough to get through the day. Most people would need 1100 or more. Some ego batteries will last a while, others are lemons. Stores aren't always the best place to get info but for anyone totally clueless it's a start that will send them searching for more info.

It kinda depends. in theory I can see it being truth, reality though may be different.

A li ion battery life is usually determined by # of charges. Typically I believe around 300 charges. If you have 1 ego battery and charge it every night, 356 days in a year and well it will last around a year. If you have 2 or 3 or 4 well then you are rotating them and will get longer life.

The liquid life is really dependent on how one uses the vaporizer. If we would treat them like a cigarette, then yes I can see where those numbers would line up. however, most of us do not. We vape more than we smoked. Think about it. If I would go and have my 5 minute vape break just like I did a smoke, I was a 5 pack a week smoker there about, I am sure 10 ml would last. Also depends on if you hitting it at 20 watts or 5 watts.

I like my Viva's and my Viva knockoffs. You know what your doing and they won't leak. Heck you really don't have to know.

In our area we have quite a few shops opening up nowadays. There are some really good shops and a few really not so good shops. lol. Luckily most of the shops and vendors we have are very helpful and honest. Unfortunately, some shops that are only in it for the money tend to hire people that don't know much about vaping. But there are other shops where the owners are very much into vaping and they only hire people with experience.

There's always a stretch to the sales pitch. The average person works inside and can only vape on breaks and at lunch. 5 hours until bedtime and you do it again. All day may mean work day, that's reasonable. Some might stretch it till bedtime. The average vaper will get 6 hours from a 650mah batt.

I haven't used any ego's or clearos in a long time so I have no idea how long they would last. For me about 12-15mls of 12mg equals about 1 carton of smokes. How do I know this? I smoked 2pad and now I vape 30ish mls of 12mg at 10-11 watts in KFL per week.

OMG I so agree. I went to a new Vape shop yesterday and they were selling a 10 ml bottle of juice to a girl and turned and asked me how long it would last her. I said a few days maybe and that I vaped almost 30 ml a week to 10 days. Hmmm... Well, later I heard the salesgirls telling customers that 10 ml is equal to a carton and 30 ml is equal to 3 cartons. I had never heard of that before and I realized I probably totally upset them with my answer. Lol. I used to smoke a carton in a week. Oh, well. If you want an honest answer, I give it. Otherwise, don't ask me. Lol. But then again it all depends on how you Vape.

Op, I hate to sound contradictory, but for New Vapers most of the information is close in correctness.
Many new vapers do not vape heavily the first few weeks and 10ml would top dozens of 510 cartridges.
Vivi Tanks(not necessarily Vision) Can leak like an old sink. I bought that refused to seal to the base. New tanks fixed both.
650mah batteries will still last me through a regular work day. Many jobs Breaks are the only time to Vape.
Not sure if you think batteries lasting a year is High or low but estimates are 300 charge cycles, about a year. My original 900mah are 17 months old and like new.

Their Data may not fit all situations but it is not totally faulty and offers a base line. Conversations could go on for hours giving all the variables - not to profitable in a business environment.

When I started Vaping I had no one to tell me anything until I found ECF. All my purchases were Blind internet transactions with minimal knowledge.
Most of those Venders statments fit right into my first months experiences.

I also had one of the local shop owners tell me she went to a vape con when preggo and "so she didn't get nic she only mouth hit different flavors to see what she wanted to carry in the store." I Lol'd...
I had a arab dude in a head shop tell me my AGA-T2 was a waste of money and should have gotten one of his vivi's instead.
Had another shop owner tell me my "flashlight" batteries in my Sentinel would short out and blow up if I left it in the mod for more than a couple hours unattended.

Ooo where? The only one I know of is E-liquid on Woodruff Rd., and I've found their prices are high and they haven't restocked my favorite flavor in like 4 months...

Just went into a new shop in town yesterday. They were pushing the "Emode", but they didn't know how it worked yet, LOL. Had their own juices, all 80pg/20vg and only in 12mg and 18mg with no other options.......sigh...
