    I got a fake lg hg2 'free' with a mod. I haven't used it ;)

The main difference between it and my genuine lg hg2's was the difference in the insulator ring on the positive pole.

Genuine had a matte finish on the paper ring, the fake had a shiny finish.

Um, if they came "totally charged" that is usually not going to be a legit battery. Either a counterfeit, or someone selling you their used batteries that no longer hold a charge well. I have never bought a battery that did not come like 2/3 charged. They store better that way.

Just get rid of them, do yourself a favor

I’ve never understood the desire to save a few bucks on batteries which are THE most important part of a vapers setup.

People will spend all sorts of money on gear yet cheap out on batteries. Not saying the OP did just what others have done based on my observations.

The ONLY way imo you have the best chance of purchasing authentic batteries is to buy them directly from a reputable battery dealer. Not a vape store and definitely not from EBay.

When in doubt - recycle them and get new ones.
