I think a manufacturer can insist on a set price for their product.

eg Apple can insist their phone is sold at £500 and Samsung can undercut them by selling theirs at £300

Price fixing is where 2 or more competitors collude to fix their price which means there is in fact no competition. If apple and Samsung agreed to keep their prices the same that would be price fixing.

But the end result of their actions does result in the same thing as price-fixing. I'm in the market for an eroll kit for instance. Every vendor sells them for the same price... its fixed by Joye who is the only one making it. That kills vendor price competition and does not serve the customer well. Good ole competition is healthy and exactly why price-fixing is illegal. I did find one single vendor selling it for a bit less (not much) and wonder how they can do that actually but all the replacement parts there are higher than at the other vendors selling the kits for what Joye demands of them. It will be interesting to see if Joye points a finger at them for carrying copy cat erolls which they're not doing.

The Innokin iTaste I ordered from FastTech is going to be here in a couple of days...and I am really looking forward to trying it. There'll be a happy, happy dance when it gets here!

As I said in another thread on this very same subject, it's about fair business practices and informed consuming. I've done my research and FastTech suits my needs, desires and budget.

I don't see what the issue is, US vendors were charging $100 for the SVD kit, I don't care if that is the suggested retail price or it's price controlled...it's a rip off. The kit for 60 something dollars or whatever fast tech sells it at is a much fairer price for what you get.

Even if it was a knockoff, the SVD uses an off the shelf chip and isn't a marvel of engineering...I don't think you'd be losing anything in translation.

I just assume that pretty much all of my vaping products are possibly fakes, unless I have something custom made for me. I will just buy generic ego batteries until I decided to invest in something heartier and made by hand, by one person, or small business, made FOR me.

No biggie. And exactly why I didn't say I would never buy ANYTHING from there.
i know the horse has been sufficiently beaten but......now we are talking custom hand made one of a kind versus genuine or "fake" :D

p.s. unless you are purchasing "genuine joyetech" eGos...you are getting a 510 threaded manual battery ie; "fake" (that everyone calls an ego...but ultimately all are from china...prob the same schematic and factory LOL )

LOL, THAT being said, I didn't know any better. I can't look at a PV since I am so new, and tell if it is or isn't. However I did start a thread asking what mods are made in the USA, and got a lot of information from that. I know what I am shooting for now that I am a teensy bit more experienced. I have specifically only bought juice from local/US makers. Will never buy juice from another country and ultimately I would like to make my own....

Baby steps!

BTW, I had no idea my Ego was made in China as I bought it at American eLiquids. I thought american juice, american products. WRONG. My local B&M told me.

I purchased an ego T from them, and later, I looked on Joyetech's website, and found out that the website is listed as a copycat. Is this the same issue as the other? Are they real ego's or fake? I sent the company two different emails about this, but I haven't had any response from them, so I'm assuming that they are fake and they don't want to admit it, and deal with me on this matter! I'm pretty upset about it too!

Slightly off topic but the vendors in the Uk state that Provape will not let them discount their Provaris, is this price fixing or is it sticking to a rigid rrp ?

I may be wrong please correct me if i am.

Price fixing is only when you call your competitor such in this case if provari called joytech and said hey price your evic at $200 and we will price provari at $300.... Price fixing is only valid if two competing vendors work together to jack prices. All other situations are just free market price strategies.

Quite a few vendors carry juices made in China or Italy, so you have to know the brands - well, actually that might not help either since retailers sometimes rebrand them. Candidly, while it's personal choice whether to vape them or not, there is nothing wrong with Chinese juices, that's all there was available for years.

Ocelot!!!! Hey!!

guess what!! after ordering nasty china ejuice.. I went out and got the "Smoky do it herself kit" if anyone will screw my juice up now, it shall be me!!! bwahaha!!! :p

I do not like the juice from fasttech.. I will not apologize for this statement, I will proudly tell everyone: Fasttech juice stinks!!!!!!! to those that enjoy it.. now there is even more for you to smoke.

Unless it said Joyetech ego-t in the description and it doesn't have the Joyetech logo on it, you didn't get cheated. Most of the "ego" batteries on the market aren't made by Joyetech. Ego has come to refer to any stick battery with ego threading.
