the smoktech cartomizers work fine. but there are a couple of things you need to know.

1) they are dual coils so they tend to not perform properly on my fixed voltage ego batteries. no problem on all VV's
2) to use in a tank you have to strip and slot them. big slots with a dremel tool give best results.

i would prefer they stocked single coil 45mm smoktech cartos though

Sort of concerned about what you're saying about the dual coils not performing properly on my fixed voltage ego batteries.
Will the combination below work OK? If not, my order was not designed very well.

that battery is to small for anything. im a genny and RDA user and have a carto tank in my pocket to go about. im used to massive amount of TH and vapor. that being said:

the single coil smoktech cartos perform very good in fixed voltage big and small bateries. unfortunately the FT smok cartos are dual coils and even though they are 1.5 ohms the vape is far from satisfactory. for me its an ok vape for the short period of time when i can't use my RDA, but thats it. none of the FT various models of cartos i've tried perform good. so you probably won't be happy with that setup

Sounds like I messed-up. I ordered five of those batteries to get the volume discount. I was planning to pair them with the cartomizers creating an e-cig for just under $5 a piece. Add in a USB charger that cost 98 cents and you get a $6 kit for someone that just wants to try out vaping.

USB Charger Adapter for Electronic Cigarette
$1.23 USB Charger Adapter for Electronic Cigarette (Diameter-9.2mm) - works with EGO-T/S10-T and more at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I'll have to wait and see if I can pull it off. The order is already shipped.

Will the above configuration be a total fail? Or, just sub-par vapor?

it depends on your preferences. but however the vape quality, the vape time is guaranteed to be very short on those batteries.

Thanks! I really appreciate the heads-up. I have a 900mAh eGo twin pack on it's way:

$9.35 900mAh Rechargeable Battery for Ego Electronic Cigarette (2-Pack) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I hope I can use the Smoktech 510 Dual Coils Cartomizers (5-Pack) with the 900mAh eGo battery. Will that work OK?

Can you recommend a carto for those little cheap stick batteries?

I know it's not going to provide kick-... vapor. Just looking for a nicotine delivery system that's a cheap alternative to buying a pack of smokes.

How about these guys:

These would probably work well on those Egos you just ordered, I think they're good for a new user because it's a top coil design, which means a slightly warmer vape... they're also very easy to fill as the center post sticks up past the edge of the tank, making it almost impossible to get juice in the air way.

Thanks. But, I need 510 threading. Also, I'm striving for a cig-like look that a analog smoker can immediately embrace. That 2.4ml clearomizer looks cool though.

By the way, I received the advice to order the Authentic Smoktech 510 Dual Coils Cartomizers (5-Pack) from the FT discussion board. It linked directly from the 180mAh battery to these cartos:

Understood ... as an FYI they do fit on the Ego's because of the cone threading. My first ecig was a Halo Triton, which my wife still uses. An Ego battery with a T2 is basically what Triton is: Triton Tank System | Advanced E-Cigarette | Halo Cigs

Thanks. Unfortunately, the stick batteries I ordered don't have eGo threads. They're just 510 stick batteries:

I saw the word "EGO" in the description and though they were one of the Ego clones that FT sells, didn't realize it was cigalike style with 510 only ... my bad.

I figured as much. FastTech's product descriptions are often misleading or down-right inaccurate. I like to read the reviews and discussions to get the reel scoop.

in terms of RDA. im having better result with smaller ones. because the air hole is closer to the coil and the chamber is small, the flavor, th and vapor production is very good.

have several of these and they all perform flawless.
$5.93 YK1 KTS Stainless Steel Electronic Cigarette Atomizer at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
$5.39 RDA Mini Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer (1.5mL) - 2.4

be careful when buying these because there are other models very similar but with a rubber grommet high in the center pole which burns and gives a bad taste.
so DO NOT BUY THESE
$5.18 Phoenix FH20 Detachable Dripping Atomizer (1.5ml) - 2.4

Preference between the 1st two that you listed? (flavor being most important) I've had my eye on one of those for awhile.

thx!

thx!

they are basically the same thing. both perform the same. they only differ in looks. make sure to get 3 or 4 because on some of them the posts come loose quite easily. they are very small to work with so this might be a problem for some ppl, but the performance is outstanding. i have many RBA's and RDA's but these paired with various mech mods are what i use constantly. they perform so good i have taken a vacation from buying vape gear.

Noticed something on the back of the MadVapes business card they throw into shipments that confirms your point:

Battery.............. Single Coil...........Dual Coil
519,901,808...........2.0-3.2 ohms.........not recommended
eGo...................2.0-3.2 ohms ........1.5-1.7 ohms
3.7 Volts.............1.7 to 3.2 ohms..... 1.5-1.7 ohms
5 Volts...............2.5 to 3.2 ohms......2 ohms
6 Volts...............3.2-4.5 ohms........ 2.5 ohms
7.4 Volts.............4 to 5 ohms......... 3 ohms

The SmokTech Dual Coil cartos I ordered from FastTech are 2.5 ohms. Based on the chart, I need a 6 volt battery. Are there any cheap 6 volt batteries I can pick-up? Would this one work?

This is what they're saying about it's voltage choices:

5 fast clicks turn on battery at 3.6 V (red light)

5 fast clicks change to 3.8 V (purple light)

5 fast clicks change to 4.2 V (blue ligth)

and 5 clicks again to lock it

I'm familiar with how the variable voltage eGos work. Trying to become familiar with which batteries are appropriate for which cartomizer. Ordered the wrong cartos from FastTech. 2.5ohm Dual Coil cartos don't go with any of the eGo batteries that I currently own.
