She really enjoys it Terry, very rewarding, but not financially. All volunteer work.
Bad to see where the dogs have been, but great to see where they are going.

Really think the courts should go all out on those idiots that mistreat animals, hefty fines, lifetime bans on owning any animal, name & shame them in National news and maybe a spell in gaol might deter others.

Well if it is off it is hardly noticeable:
View attachment 470711

EDIT: in the photo is does look it, but in real life you don't notice it
Looks right to me :)

What a fantastic job your sis has George. It must be very rewarding most of the time, and obviously, it must also be very upsetting at some of the things she sees.
My last two dogs were both rescues :)
Dog rescue is hard work, but rewarding and so very valuable. Many of them go to puppy farmers and risk their own safety at times in order to give dogs a better life. I've always admired them.
My close friend Susan runs this recognised organisation, and although she often tavels from one end of the country to the other without any notice, she and her network do a terrific job: Poodle Network UK, Poodle rescue uk, Poodle rehome uk
Thanks very much Marcus, she`s also a bloody handful.
Aw Terry, think you should take her back  ....but just look at those eyes! :)

___________________________________________________________________________________________

I got an email with this included in it a couple of hours ago (link Assembly Governmental Organization Committee - Jul 8th, 2015 ), and I've been quite interested in hearing this senators blatant deception and downright lies, which were openly backed up by supposedly respected and intelligent professionals. They're either totally dumb or very devious for hidden agendas.
Great to see the people who stood against in opposition, and good too to see the outcome.
The first five minutes of what Leno says in the above link made me really annoyed (begins at around 8 minutes in).
California SB140 Fails, Vapers Celebrate Small Victory, Sen Leno Cries

I skipped through some of the nitty gritty of such proceedings, but at 40 minutes there's plenty of good argument against, and many suppliers of brands we recognise, 1.08 interesting discussion, and 1.11 questioning how the devices could be termed a tobacco product when they contain nothing.

Also, one of his points is that if they were willing to be termed smoking cessation devices, and contained no nicotine, they wouldn't come under the proposals.
I heard no-one oppose his argument to call nicotine free substances a smoking cessation product - how can a smoker cease using nicotine without something that will allow the gradual reduction in use of nicotine?

At least he lost this time.

 I Was sorting thru a few things this lunchtime and pulled my first device out of a drawer.
Innokin VV3 and a Anyvape mini Davide tank(takes the non-nauty bvc's).
So i had a dry suck on it.Talk about tight draw.Think i must have gone blue in the face:eek:
How the hell i got off the Stinkies using that for the first two months i'll never know.
Must have been outright stubborness that i was going to go ahead with it,no matter what.

Hah! Look what stopped me from smoking 36 per day: The Express E-Cig Starter Kit | Green Smoke® E-Vapor UK
I used those and V2 brand batteries/cartridges for over 6 weeks until my problem with PG manifested.
Had it not been for that, I'd have happily carried on with them ..even in that 6+ weeks, I got down from 2.4 to a mix of 1.2 and 1.0 ...quite possible I'd be using nothing or very little indeed by now.

Still, the 100 or so cartridges and batteries I still had at that point were either sold or passed on by my son to a friend who is still off cigarettes.

I went from those to the eSmart which is still available ...the tanks/cartomizers whatever they call them aren't fun, but do the job I suppose.
Then on to the Evod kits ...and so on.

Agree with all of that Bob, with the addition of bringing back the license, and not 2&6d either  Make them a hefty price like a couple of hundred quid, and that would make some of the knob heads think twice before aquiring a dog. :thumb:

Yes, and we need more of those programmes that show them being tracked down and exposed for what they are!

The law never seems to give hard enough fines and punishments, but then, nor do they for crimes against people.

Trouble with that is policing the license system, and it penalises the good owners, talking of licenses, I would like to see the end of the Road Fund License and the fuel increased to cover the loss of revenue, so that people who used their cars a lot [read too lazy to walk to corner shop] would get taxed more than weekend drivers.

Far better and fairer way! Wasn't this something suggested or proposed to government years ago and never followed up on?

Could do with a rising scale dependent on the amount of injury caused to the animal/person.
Yes, that would be good ...but how competent would they be in assessing psychological damage?
With people, some injuries are wide open to abuse and deliberate faking of the degree of injury.

Agree there Bob,but that's too logical for any British government to see.

Yes and dealt with accordingly Trisha.

Surely if their was a national database Bob, and it was illegal for breeders to sell a dog to anyone who was not registered would be the way forward. And i am pretty sure responsible, loving owners wouldn`t mind paying a fee. just my 2 cents mate.
Don't know what name she may use Tel.
But her real name is Gill Lloyd.

Thanks George i`ll keep my eye out for her, is it north wales where she lives ?

The bean counters may have done the sums and realised they may would lose out!

The great part about it that way 'tho Trish is it's impossible to avoid paying the tax.
It's pay the tax included in the price of the petrol or walk.
There must be 1000's of cars untaxed on our roads, and with there now being no tax disc they literally have to pass a number plate recognition camera to get caught.
And no tax on a car means invalid insurance and you don't want that sort of person free on the highway.

It would certainly make a difference!
There'll always be illegal aspects to dog breeding (and owning), but everything with a positive step forward has to be an improvement :)

Yes, I don't have a problem with that - it's a far better system, and fair.
There must be 1000's of cars untaxed on our roads, and with there now being no tax disc they literally have to pass a number plate recognition camera to get caught.
Yes, as long as the camera is actually working and someone either watching or checking the resulting data. I may be wrong, but think I may have been told recently that ANPR is mobile now too in many areas.

At least they'd have to pay up.
