Do you think it is really needed Bob? I've read it can take 4 hours.
They seem to think in UKV comments with a mass produced mod it's not needed.
What is the real purpose of the case test?
I'll try calling in someone who might know,
@VapingBad do you have any input on this - it's a bit over my head  and windows on AAEC didn't alter the figures from default on my one

Just a fast tech note. I was surprised to see the Temp control sub tank coils that arrived were vertical style.

Either they take forever to break in or they taste terrible. I assume that's true regardless of point of purchase.

If the case test was not completed on the fan then it should be done. Assuming the default values are there is spend the time. Alger steely extreme climates I personally believe benefit if only from safety. The default test only covers to about 105F or so. My climate reaches about 122. Ambient can be closer to 180 in a car.

Ideally one wouldn't use battery products in that area. But I felt doing it to at least measurable temp
Outside was wise.

The battery growth drain test seems to be a big issue with the cheaper mods shopping with half dead lipo packs.

Are we talking of the Kangertech in the black box with blue writing on it and do they verify as kosher, all my ones are horizontal but were not bought from FT and they are a few months old, so it's possible they have changed them to vertical coils.
I always prep mine by putting juice on the wick via the top and the air holes.

Hi @bob1951, the case analyser is mainly to take the heat produced by charging in to account and stop it derailing the refinement. Not essential but nice to have, the mod resistance and the battery Watt hours are far more important, if the battery bar is out then a battery analyser curve is a good idea.

To measure the Mod Resistance you need to short the 510 while running atomiser analyser, I got best results with a cartomiser I soldered, but a solid copper bar was almost as good. Details: Mod Resistance - DNA 200 Early Adopters Forum

For the battery analyser you can make some large loops with thick kanthal in a dripper that will stand running at 40 W, this is in a velocity with 0. 5 mm

Yup their are the ones. I'll scratch the card for you in a minute and let you know.

I preferred the old style personally. These are either taking over 5 ml to break in or are just going to taste really bad

I'll check the scratcher but typically their claims of authentic are true.

I always check even if they are from reputable stores - I trust no one except myself o_O

It's a problem with vertical coils, they must be primed and then left to sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the juice to soak in, otherwise the OC will get burnt on the initial firing (before temp protection cuts in) and then that coil will taste bad no matter how much you use it afterwards.

Here to go bob. Pics of the authenticated (just now) coils they're shipping now. Honestly they're way better build than the dirty regular coils I previously bought from fast tech which were falling apart. I really hope the taste comes around. These coils should last a long time vs the non temp ones. They're really inexpensive on fast tech. The amount of cotton and wick hole size is large for a lancer occ coil - Thai is my first time with a. VerticalCoil from them so while others may have seen it before I was taken slightly aback by the their wall of cotton. Hence my disappointment so far with flavor. Continue on. As the flavor is the exact same as the new nautilus coils when they break in in side the kabuki tank. Much much better build quality. Hard to capture down in with an iPhone. You should be able to see the large wall of wraps at this angle. If you zoom in on photo 3

I posted the pack so you could see the exterior and consistency of build with all the units. They're all built well.

So if you're looking for them. I ordered and this is what I received. I don't recall a designation of vertical I think they just sold it if the old ones. The picture hasnt been updated. I'll double check the sku I ordered.

Edit-2284300 <$2 a coil is half the price I see them typically.

I still have 2 boxes of the old Ni-200 horizontal ones to get through, but even they last for about 5 to 6 tankfuls (about 25ml) so if the new one last as long, that will be okay with me.

I can't get past the fact I don't think the vertical aren't as good as the horizontal. I wish they kept a choice.

For example right now either I get almost no vapor or it's burning. It's like it's not wicking properly. I've read poking small holes on the wick cotton area helps. I may try that.

The nautilus temp Coils Last for much longer than that if you don't go past about (420f) accurate. I think I'm on about 50 ml on coils in the kabuki. I just hope these can break in.

Anyway wanted you to have the information. Hope it helps.

I thought you had already ordered it , must be someone else, it also has a setting for steel coils in the 3 click menu, so Triton & Uwell coils will work, put one of my Uwells on it and it works fine at 450°F whereas on the D2 I had to set it lower at 350°F

Haven't ordered one yet.Was very tempted to order one from GB (still on Pre order)

Bob
SS wire have you found a decent supply yet?
Not sure if VAM do 316L now or not, when I tried it, they only had 317L and that was rubbish - none of my mods would recognise it, see there is now some new stuff out which some people on the Nickel Purity thread on here have been trying SS430 Magnetic.

These TFV4 coils are massive, here's a pic if no one has seen them, in order:
a Crown coil, a TF-Q4 (quad coil), a Kanger RBA2 & finally a TF-R1 (single coil rebuildable). These were from my original TFV4 (24.5mm)

Picked one up off the counter in a B&M, last week "What the hells that"
You're right they are massive.

I'm going to see how the NiFe30 is before I start trying any more steel, although the Triton/Crown pre-made steel coils are pretty good, as is this new 0.35 Kanthal Clapton coil that came pre-installed in the TFV4 Mini, got it on my IPV4 @ 35w with Beard #05
