Oh that's great. You have been off longer than I. I took about a year to transition though. So I've been vaping on and off for probably 9 years. I stopped shortly after starting because back then it was awful. Then kept trying. It want good enoug. Eventually I stopped trying new stuff. Until about 18 months ago. Then finally packed in the smoking.

Where do you get your recipes for juice? I gather there are some great sites but it seems daunting to have to get so many ingredients in. And spend a lot of time. To make things that ultimate may not work.

I see some recipes that look good but then I see they have seven flavors and think I'd have to have a medicine cabinet full of flavoring. I'd like to get to making my own but at present concentrate is as far as I can go. I just can't be in the positions even if I had the flavoring.

That said I'd like to start scouting for recipes. Preferably on a site that users rate them. Is there a central repository like that out there?

I had cats growing up. We had a dog but it form work out at the time. She went to a friends house. Since I turned 18 I've had dogs.

I really hate the smell of cigarettes and I won't even vape tobacco flavourings.

When I started doing DIY I googled recipes and this forum kept coming up. I was just lurking, I didn't sign up until August lol.

As I use The Flavor Apprentice concentrates I found this thread really helpful. There is 580 pages and I've read every single page :D
The Flavor Apprentice Flavoring Thread

I have about 100 different concentrates. Obviously I didn't buy them all in one go lol.
Just start with a few basic flavours you like and then add more flavours.
To start off DIY is expensive but later on you will realize how much money you save.

If anyone wants to start DIYing I recommend people to read this... Bill's magic vapor's blog Bill's Magic Vapor's blog | E-Cigarette Forum

If you need any help with anything, let me know and I'll try and help you :)

Great thanks Trish, getting bloody big now  She is quite funny with her food though. I`ve tried all the expensive BARF ones, and she turns her nose up at them, but she does like minced beef, and fried liver, so she`s not going hungry
She's beautiful! Grown a lot too. Ours love minced beef - at tea time they get a fairly small amount mixed with Wellbeloved Lamb & Rice/Royal Canin weight control. Lunch time they get the same biscuit mix with a small amount of various organic and human grade dog foods. (We get that at Zoo Plus as the prices are good).
I rather like fried liver myself! Can't say we've had any for a really long time, so neither have the dogs

Meanwhile I'm cleared for the second surgery providing the inflammation from the first subsides more. And the old girl (light of my life)is keeping me company after stealing the Missis robe. It's actually been quite cold in Arizona shockingly. So the dogs are doing everything they can to bury their noses and get under cover. Our temps have been lower than places like NYC for a week.
Do all you can to make sure the inflammation improves! :)
Nothing beats a companion like that! She's great!

Oh
My mother in law lives with us she's an incredible woman who is a caregiver for the elderly. Unfortunately her event long time friend and patient died and he had a 9-11 year old mix. Some kind of sausage chihuahua mix. She's been distraught since his death and her subsequent move in. Not eating and such. She's a very sweet girl. She is definitely drawn to me as her owner was a 6'4" make I fill the void of tall guy

Anyway I think she just has starved herself so much her blood sugar dropped and she had two seizures within 10 minutes. She went immediately to emergency Saturday night and her vitals and such were good. Mane doesn't have epilepsy. And has never had them before. I really hope it was blood sugar which is the cause and not something more sinister. She's the last part of her former family - the man Jack and if something is really wrong with her I think my mother in law will be beside herself.
Our big one began having seizures at around 4-5, and it was whenever the groomers came to bath & clip her, or in the few days following that.
Being young, the vet was reluctant to put her on drugs as they aren't good long-term, so he suggested that if it did appear to be the groomers, perhaps we could try something like DAP or one of the herbal calming products. They didn't work, and she went on to have 3, always around the time the groomers came for their monthly visit.
After a bit of searching, I found Zylkène: it's a very safe milk peptide and has a calming effect blocking stress to the brain. We started giving her the capsules for three days before they came, and three or four days after. We also take care not to show any signs that they are due to arrive.
She's only had two seizures since: one 2011, one 2012, and both times we missed a capsule either the night before the groomers came, or the day after! We're very careful now to remember.
Our vet was delighted with the result, and a friend of ours had success with a very nervous hyper dog that she was looking after for a client who was on holiday.
With your poor little soul, it's possibly down to the loss and changes in her life, so different, but still stress. Could be that a spell using those capsules will help her if nothing untoward is found after the holidays.

@Pictor that's excellent information thank you. Can I give it to her daily? What kind of dosage for a 20 lb dog though they weighed her st 7.5 lbs. I think they made a mistake. That's what the tiny one weighs. If she's truly that lift she's got a problem worse than I thought.

Yes, you can give it to her daily, and I initially contacted the manufacturers to make sure it was appropriate for seizures, and they replied that it was an excellent use for the capsules, and quite safe long term if necessary.

You only need one dose per day, and they come in 3 strengths for different size dogs.
Lowest is 75mg:
Small Dogs (Under 4.5kg) - 1 Capsule per day
Small Dogs (5-10kg) - 2 Capsules per day.
Next size is 225mg:
Medium Dogs (10-15kg) - 1 Capsule per day
Medium Dogs (15-30kg) - 2 Capsules per day

You can get small or large packs here, but I'm not sure on pack sizes or prices in the US.
They aren't the cheapest of things, but if it works for your little newcomer, she may not need them for too long - once she settles and relaxes into her new life, she should be OK ...you just need to judge how she's coping. (We had a small dog that grieved for some months when her bigger pal died).

The longer a dog (or person come to that) can go without a seizure, the less chance of triggering one ...apparently, as the vet explained it, the brain actually learns how to slip into a seizure with frequency of incidence. (It's like an electrical storm causing messages to get confused between the neurons).
We haven't had one happen since early 2012, and she seems less hyper active in the few days after the groomers have been, so she's coping much better now. Dare we stop giving her those capsules each month? ...no! But our reason for them is on-going, hopefully, yours won't be once she gets settled and accepts her new life.

Try a search : 'Zylkene for dogs' - May be worth trying a small pack of 10 or 20 if you can get packs that size.
We just empty the capsule into her food at tea time and stir it in. We give it at tea time because her seizures were always early morning.

I bet he still misses his brother :(
It's one thing where cats differ from dogs, once separated from their siblings, it takes very little time for them to forget and even if they met another sibling later they would not recognise them as such, we still miss him though.

Really?. I didn't know that.

I didn't think I would get attached to my cat but I know I would really miss him if he went.

I've purchased CL Reserve from Sparks in the past.Still have one unopened in the cupboard, finished one last week.
I usually wait 'til i need a few and get the free postage on £40....not that i'm a tight a**s
Got my Castle Long and the Lumberjacks moonshine Birch Sap today. If a drop taste is anything to go by, I can see why you like the Castle Long! I think I'll easily be able to add a bit of VG ones to it!
As for the Birch Sap, that too tastes very good! I'm going to try it later :)
