Dig them marigolds out Bob, they work a treat for them sort of problems.
Doesn't need to steep - you can use it straight away
ended up using a nitrile glove to hold the the atty and a pair of mole grips with a vape grip to protect the P3 connector and it came off almost straight away, put it back on after fiddling with it but not so tight

No, that means they are checking it through the system, the next one (probably tomorrow) should say something like "keys" and "opening" that means it is going through export customs then the day after it should go on the plane and next day arrive at Heathrow.

Definitely have to wait for it to come out of sleep before you can vape, it says "Hello!" then "KX-40D", mine also kept asking "new up or same down" but has stopped doing that now.(always best to press the up button when it asks that).
1st off tried the Lemo which was on my VS on the VF but had problems with the TC see below
So I built on my Doge-X 9 wraps 27g round 3mm to get 0.1 but ended up with 0.09 put some rayon in it and tried it at 410°F / 25w - TC cut in almost immediately, so upped it to 450 same thing, I'm having to run it at 550 to get a decent vape from it, I put the Lemo back on and the same problem, TC cuts in straight away not allowing you to vape at 410, 450, 500 but set it to 550 and it vapes fine with TC cutting in occasionally. I also put the Doge-X on the VS and it shows as 0.12 ohms and it vapes normally @ 410 / 40w
So something is wrong somewhere...am thinking this is NOT a kosher Evolve DNA40 even though I was led to believe it was, and this chip is not doing what it is supposed to do, have aired my comments on AAEC and will see if anyone on there can shed some light on it.
Mind you even if this cannot be sorted it can still be used with Kanthal builds as a normal 40w mod or with Nichrome & rayon @ 550°F (anyone know what temp rayon burns at ??? , know it is higher than cotton)

Me too mate, i have just spent a good hour or 2 searching around for it with no joy. I read the tempered is better to work with george ( Reviews on stealth vape )

It maybe a good thing that me and george can`t get hold of the wire ! Only kidding with that, but it is a bit of a blow. If mine and georges are the same, then obviously they are not up to scratch, and i will either return it, or use it how you suggest. Hope you get some feed back from AAEC soon mate, and keep us updated.
Hmmm doesn't sound like an evolv board but maybe it works but just isn't calibrated quite right?
You could dry burn the coil at various temps with fresh cotton to see what temp it starts to burn at compared to the vs rdna 40 and then just adjust your temp at that higher level. So as long as the cotton isn't burning it would be ok to vape at 550f.

No probs,i'll just run it on Kanthal as a 40W device,worse comes to worse.It's pretty damn cheap anyway if it comes to that.
Did you notice on the label of your Goose juice Terry,it's come from France?Don't know if it;s made to recipe there or imported from the States.On Quacks website you can buy the concentrate.So you know how certain foriegn beers are brewed in the uk under licence,maybe they do that.

Update on VF: Well it is definitely not the same mod as the Kangxin one, different display off and sleep timings as well. Think this is deffo not a DNA40 but a bad clone, I have been on the website and sent a contact us message explaining the problems, asking them to test the ones they have, and to let me know who they got them from because it is not Kangxin (which are kosher). Robby on AAEC is also waiting for one from Focal to see if they are Kangxin ones as Doris (Focal English contact) says they are.
Will let you know what they say if they reply.
Adam you could well have hit the nail on the head about the calibration, I am now able to vape at 420°F but the TC keeps cutting in and the vapour is about 10% of what I can get on the VS

Oh and they have now been proven to be the Kangxin mods after all.

That's weird. Do you still get different the different display messages that led you to believe it wasn't the right chip/mod?
Also while I remember, has anyone else here tried T Juice Red Astaire? I've been vaping it (made from concentrate) all week at home on my veritas and it's so good I've hardly vaped any other juice while I've been at home. Just like hawk sauce the mentholness isn't too strong and it's more eucalyptusy and complex than straight up menthol, and the berry flavour is a nice mix, I keep wanting to describe the flavour as "deep" if that makes sense.
I'm still unsure, don't like the sleep thingy, as it takes quite a while, when you press fire it wakes up and displays "Hello!" then "KX-40D" then the main display showing the wattage, temperature but only dashes for the ohms, press fire again and it asks "new up or same down" so have to press up button - all this before you can vape, at some point yesterday it did actually remember what the ohms was so you only had to wait for the main display to come up. It may be because my build is below 0.1 so may try another later and get it above 0.1, good job I'm testing it with a dripper
There is also the difference in the sleep timings, others on AAEC who got theirs direct from Kangxin are saying that theirs go to sleep after 10 minutes but mine is only 1 minute as per what it says in the leaflet that came with it
